Akshay pushes release of Marathi film 72 Miles to Aug

With close to 100 films
being released in the
Marathi film industry
every year, compared to
just 30-40, producers are
beginning to feel the pinch of clashing dates and films. July 26 was
going to witness a
release of three big banner Marathi films.
These included a Marathi film '72 Miles Ek
Pravas' produced by Akshay Kumar and
Ashwini Yardi's Grazing Goat Pictures. It
was based on novel '72 Miles' written by Ashok Vhatkar & Directed by
Rajiv Patil.

But now the date of release of this
ambitious film has been postponed in
order to avoid the aforesaid disaster of
the division of the audiences and also the
theatres. Therefore now this film 72 Miles
Ek Pravas is going to release on August 9 instead of its previously
scheduled date
of July 26. This information was
communicated by Jayesh Muzumdar, the
director of the Commercial and Regional
Films Division of Viacom18, the company
looking after the distribution and presentation of this film.

Ashwini Yardi of Grazing Goat Pictures,
said, "After presenting a hit film in Hindi
like Oh! My God, our company has stepped
into Marathi films through this film.
Marathi audiences have always accorded
their first preference to the films that present a social reference blended with
entertainment. Our film has both these
elements and it is for this reason this
decision has been taken. This will help
the film attract highest possible
audiences and it shall release at highest number of theatres at a time."

Smita Tambe, Chinmay Sant, Sharvani
Solaskar, Isha Mane and Chinmay Kambli
have played the lead roles in this film.

Shah Rukh's leading lady for Happy New Year to be revealed

It is going to be quicker than one may
have imagined. In a matter of few days
from now (which could be inside a
week), the leading lady opposite Shah
Rukh Khan in Happy New Year would be
revealed. The announcement, which has been awaited for over 6 months now,
would be an outcome of an extensive
screen test exercise, both for newcomers
and experienced actresses, which took
place during the weeks gone by.

"Now that Farah is through with the
auditions, she has left for Dubai for a
tech recce. Though locations were
finalized a year ago, her core technical
team comprising of DOP and art director
amongst others have joined her," our source confirms, "She would be back
after a couple of days and then
immediately meet Shahrukh on her
return. By 20th of this month, they would
unveil the leading lady."

We caught Farah just before she was
catching flight to Dubai. While she
confirmed the developments, she also
added in her characteristic tone, "I hope
there won't be any new names thrown
in over next 10 days as my film's heroine. I have been surprised enough
by those who are not even connected to
the film. Let me come back and make the
formal announcement. It could well be
sooner than you can think."

Considering the fact that the film is all
set to go on floors in September and the
heroine has to go through the required
preparation before she faces the camera,
sooner could well be better.

melodic music composition is by Shankar-
Ehsaan-Loy. This film has starring Sonam

SRK mourns Pran's death, says he'll remain in our hearts

Bollywood superstar Shah
Rukh Khan has mourned
the death of Pran, one of
Indian cinema's most
hated villains yet among the most loved, respected and versatile
actors, saying the icon will always live in
the hearts of his fans.

Pran Kishan Sikand, popular as Pran,
breathed his last at the Lilavati Hospital
here late Friday evening following
prolonged illness, his son said. He was 93.

Expressing his grief through Twitter, Shah
Rukh wrote: "Why do icons who shaped
our lives and emotions have to go

Shah Rukh wrote.

Priyanka Chopra, who is working in the

popularised Pran as Sher Khan, a Pathan

by the protagonist played by Amitabh
Bachchan, too mourned his death.

dedicated to actor-politician Chiranjeevi,
will be released on the actor's 58th
birthday on August 22.

"The song on Chiranjeevi garu to be
released on his birthday 22nd August is
completely (a) dance and techno based.
I'm naming it Chiru," Baba wrote on his Twitter page.

In 2012, Baba dedicated a song to
Chiranjeevi's brother Pawan Kalyan, who
is also a popular actor in Telugu. The song,
titled Pawa Pawa Pawan Kalyan went on to be a viral hit. It was
composed and sung
by Baba.

He has crooned chartbusters in Pawan
Kalyan's films such as Jalsa and Gabbar Singh. Baba was recently
signed on to feature in an important role in upcoming
Telugu period-drama Rudhramadevi.

Hrithik Roshan raring to get back in action

Post his brain surgery last week, Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan is back
home and hopes to return to work as soon
as possible.

The 39-year-old Krrish star underwent the surgery to remove a two-month-old clot
caused due to an injury he sustained while
shooting for Bang Bang.

Hrithik has been advised four-weeks of
rest and after that the actor promises to
be back in action.

"I can't afford to take a sick leave. This
throws a lot of lives, lives of people very
dear to me, completely out of whack. But I
cannot worry, that solves nothing. I have
to focus on what can be," said Hrithik.

"All I have to do is take a decision... I
decide that I have the power to turn a
curse into a boon, as I have done in the
past. I will make up for this in the most
wonderful way imaginable for all the
people concerned," he said.

Hrithik's much awaited super-hero film Krrish 3 directed by his father
Rakesh Roshan, will release on November 4. The
shooting schedule of his upcoming film Bang Bang has been postponed
till he recuperates.

"I will of course be most careful. That I
promise," said Hrithik.

Sidharth Malhotra: Parineeti Chopra is an inspiration

Actor Sidharth Malhotra says he is inspired by his Hasee Toh Phasee
co- star Parineeti Chopra.

The model-turned-actor thinks the Ishaqzaade actress is energetic and funky.

"On the sets of Hasee Toh Phasee, Parineeti makes sure she rehearses a lot
which helps me hone my acting skills too," said Malhotra. Hasee Toh
Phasee is a romantic comedy produced by Karan Johar
which will release next year. Malhotra will
be seen playing a regular guy.

Malhotra will next be seen opposite Aashiqui 2 fame actress Shraddha
Kapoor in an action film The Villain.

"We'll start shooting for The Villain this September. It's a dark
role," said the actor.

Other than the two films, the 28-year-old
also has an untitled action flick which is to
be directed by Remo D'Souza.

"I might work in Remo's film on car racing
but I don't really know when that would
begin," said Malhotra.

The actor, who has previously worked as
an assistant director with Karan Johar in Dostana and My Name is Khan,
looks forward to working with his mentor and
other directors in future.

"Imtiaz Ali, Zoya Akhtar and Rajkumar
Hirani are some of the directors I would
love to work with," he said.

Farhan Akhtar – Master Of All Trades!

One of the prime most reasons why
images of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag are still streaming vividly in head, is because
Farhan Akhtar imbibed the spirit of
Milkha Singh with such caliber that you
are almost compelled to take a bow for
his bravura work. I won't deny that
when I first heard him trying a hand at acting, my initial stance was
judgmental.
I was quick to decide that he will be
shabby at it. Being an ardent fan of Dil
Chahta Hai and persistently standing by
my belief that Lakshya was another gem
of a film, I firmly believed his stronghold was direction. The man's sense of
cinema was so dynamic that with his
debut film itself, he proved himself true
to his pedigree and kicked off a newer
wave of cinema altogether which
changed the face of Bollywood henceforth!

He took it forward with Don triggering
off a season of remakes which has
sustained even today. To his credit, his
film was stylish tribute to the yesteryear
classic film. In terms of story or
execution, the film could have done better but Farhan's style ensured it to be
a hit.

I wasn't sure if he could sing either! But
Rock On changed it all for his fans as well
as him. We are generally averse to the
idea of multitasking, quick to assume
that it is negatively proportional to
quality! With Farhan, it was a booster. Every step enhanced his work, especially
acting. Each role was better than the
last, and with Bhaag Milkha Bhaag he
reached his hilt.

I cannot get over the romantic ballad
'Tum Ho Toh' even today. Nothing can
beat spending a lazy Sunday with
popcorn watching Dil Chahta Hai again
and again. And with Bhaag Milkha
Bhaag, there is a man whose acting is just unmatchable in terms of energy and
confidence!

In his debut film itself, his confidence
and energy was hard to miss. Shifting
from behind the camera to in front of it
was a transition he executed with ease.
His understanding to films remains
unchallenged and that is what translated on celluloid. With Zindagi
Naa Milegi Dobaara, he showed his affinity towards humor and yet
remaining poignant at
every scene.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag demonstrated his
command over acting way better than
ever before! There is magic he brings
into the charisma of Milkha Singh and
with critics acclaiming him he was
finally won as an actor too.

Farhan isn't merely another actor, he is
also a superior director, an ace singer.
People crib mastering one art, and here
is the superhero who has flawless
command over three. The reason why I
thought no one could have played Milkha better, was because Farhan knew the
soul of Milkha better than anyone. He has
been a champion in his career so far
despite hurdles and yet through it all he
has raced ahead of all, triumphant!

Box Office Check: Prabhudeva As A Director

He was a dance maverick who became
popular as the Indian Michael Jackson.
But he penetrated deeper in Bollywood
with his directorial abilities. He has a
delectable share of claim in Salman
Khan's initial road to fame. The phenomena who made a thumping
impact with 198 crores at box office
with Ek Tha Tiger first tasted his abilities to the fullest with Prabhu Deva's
directorial debut in Bollywood, Wanted
in 2008.

Starring Salman Khan and Ayesha Takia
in lead roles, as a director his first film
was an enticing and pulsating masala
flick! The film made a lifetime income of
60.69 crores and went on to become a
super hit at box office. The man was the first to realize the full potential of
Salman's Dabanng-ness and harnessed it
to the fullest paving way for his recent
overwhelming success.

With his next film Rowdy Rathore starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi
Sinha, Prabhudeva escalated his success
by delivering another superhit film at
the domestic box office. With a collection
of 131 crore, the film became one of the year's most magnanimous hits!

Prabhudeva is all set to recreate his
success magic with upcoming film Ramaiya Vastavaiya . Since the box
office this year seems more receptive to
films of romantic nature, be it Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani or Aashiqui 2,
the chances of Ramaiya Vastavaiya working
are quite good.

He is also lining up his next Rambo Rajkumar starring Shahid Kapoor
and Sonakshi Sinha, for a end-November
release. Shahid known for good work in
action genre with Kaminey might show
another first rate performance in the
film.

Prabhudeva's success rate in terms of
box office is high and his connect with
the audiences has been great. And hence
the expectations from him is high as
always. It is on his upcoming films to lay
out how 2013 will further or deter his success.

Chennai Express Fever: Shah Rukh Khan And His South Indian Connect!

No, we don't mean he actually is a South
Indian or hails from the Kanyakumari
angle, but many a times, relevantly in
some iconic Shah Rukh Khan films; we
have been testament to the immense
South Indian flavor gaining momentum.

Although Chennai Express, too does not have the actor essaying the role of a
South Indian, yet the immense connect
to the idli-dosa and the upma have
grabbed eyeballs.

With less than a month left for the
Chennai Express to unleash its mighty
force on the masses, we explore the
different South Indian connections that
networked few of Shah Rukh's
memorable flicks and how!

Dil Se:

Mani Ratnam's pioneering piece based on
the backdrop of the Hindu-Muslim feud,
Dil Se was known for the brilliant
spectacle of having B-town's Badshah
shake more than just his legs to a
Chhaiya Chhaiya atop a running train. But more so, it was the soulful and
extremely melodious voice of Lata
Mangeshkar that added more gravitas to
a film which hinged on a cumulative
South Indian backdrop. With Jiya Jaale
and debutante Preity Zinta's bubbly Keralite character adding verve to the
film, Dil Se attacked audiences with the
right blend of boldness and fervor.

Plus the additional scenic and artistic
frames of Kerala form a huge relevance
to the Jiya Jaale number, which also
carried the Malayalam flavor in its lyrics.

Om Shanti Om:

Trodding back to a film that revamped
the '80s gharana and was a brave
testament to the polka dots and the bell
bottoms at a time when contemporary
was considered classic, Om Shanti Om set
new benchmarks for films, portraying a certain period of the past.
Clearly full of a
dash of the glamour and the gliteratti,
SRK-Farah's coalition had Shah Rukh
donning the typical South Indian masala
avatar in one of the pro-active scenes. In
a scene to woo starlet Deepika Padukone, SRK pretends to be an actor
battling against all odds. Here the
obstacle being a toy tiger! Amidst a lot
of tarka and masti ka dhishoom
dhishoom, SRK, the newly evolved star
won his way to glory. Call this scene bad and our witty actor will scream back:
Yanna rascala, mind it! With his
disarming candour, we agree!

SRK's magnanimous piece of superhero
flick that was overloaded with new-age
techniques and advancements created a
niche for itself in the international arena.
With a Bollywood film going global
distances, SRK had been inventive of a futuristic genre that might captivate the
entire nation someday. Essentially unlike
Dil Se or Om Shanti Om, SRK's humane
character in the film, Shekhar
Subramaniam was a Tamilian by heart.
From having dollops of khatti dahi in everything he had, including the Chinese
noodles, SRK's depiction of a Tamilian
was pitch perfect. The mannerisms and
the maneuvers were a big thumbs up.
Not just that, the chartbuster of the year,
Chhammak Chhallo too carried some brilliant South Indian flavor piled on,
courtesy the delicious Hamsika Iyer
sharing centrestage with Akon!

Chennai Express:

A film that is typically not so SRK-ish but
too much of a Rohit Shetty trademark
ishtyle-ised flick, Chennai Express is
definitely SRK's first tryst with complete
South Indian ethnicity, to be precise.
From the backdrops to the dialect to the ambience, everything is oh-so-South
Indian. Plus the perfect dichotomy of
sorts between SRK and his beloved
Deepika stands as the major USP of this
action comedy. While Deepika sizzles in
her Tamilian accent playing Meena Lochini to the tee, SRK's lungi dance is
the one to watch out for.

The Munnar tea hills, the backdrops, the
Kathakali, The Elephants, the Pulikali and
the Kalaripayattu screenings in the
Kashmir tu main Kanyakumari song echo
the essence of the South Indian flavor
that we are about to gorge on. Not to forget Balasubramaniam's Tamilain tinge
to the title song, the interlude to the
rapchik 1234 Get on the Dance Floor song
and the obvious Tamil lines from the Titli
number that helps the film notch up a
few more levels. Deepika's Bharatnatyam is breathtaking and a
show stealer in the 2 minute video of
the lovely romantic number that was
unveiled a few weeks back.

All in all, with SRK all set to bring
romance and action onto our platters in
true entertaining methods, we are just
Falling in Love with CE, the Rohit Shetty
ishtyle!

Satya 2's second trailer is out!

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma's film Satya 2's second
trailer featuring actor Puneet Singh
Ratn is out. Satya 2 is sequel to his
1998 crime thriller Satya.

The trailer shows a man who is
desirous to set up his own underworld
company. The role of this man is
played by Puneet Singh Ratn, and
Anaika Soti plays his love interest.

The filmmaker also tweeted about
Satya 2, "Satya was a man who came
in 1998, got into the underworld and
died... Satya 2 is about a man who
comes in 2013 to reinvent the
underworld."

Salman's 'Mental' Is Now Titled 'Jai Ho'!

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's
next movie which is to be released on
the 24th Of January next year, has
now been renamed. The title of the
movie, which was first 'Mental' has
now reportedly been changed to 'Jai Ho' a source told us. Ever since the
news has released, trade analysts and
fans of the megastar are giving a
mixed response to the change of
names.

But Salman Khan himself hasn't yet
said anything regarding the change of
names.

According to the source," The
name of the movie has been
changed from 'Mental' to 'Jai Ho'
as it seems more appropriately
fitting with respect to the time
when the movie is being released. Director Sohail Khan,
who is also Salman's younger
brother was the one who
suggested that this change should
be made as it would work
because the movie is releasing on the Republic Day weekend."

Salman Khan, who is currently the top
star of the industry has been giving
back to back blockbusters like
Dabangg, Ek Tha Tiger and Bodyguard
is expected to break all records when
his new film releases next year during the Rebuplic Day time period which is
a National holiday. Although, till now
it hasn't been officially announced.
The film also stars Sana Khan in the
female lead.

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan to star in Himesh Reshammiya's next

Himesh Reshammiya has been awfully
low-profile these days. Quietly we hear
he has negotiated for the remake rights
of Shekhar Kapur's 1983 classic Masoom
which starred Naseeruddin Shah and
Shabana Azmi as a couple grappling with the reality of an illegitimate
son in the
husband's life.

The tear-jerker had melted hearts across
the nation immediately establishing
Shekhar Kapur as a formidable
filmmaking force.

Now 30 years later, Himesh Reshammiya
has bought the remake rights of Masoom
from the original producers Chanda Dutt
and Devi Dutt. The remake would be
directed by Bedobrata Pain, whose
historical drama Chittagong last year received lavish critical acclaim.

What's more, Himesh has zeroed in on
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek
Bachchan to play the two roles
immortalized by Shabana Azmi and
Naseeruddin Shah.

According to a very reliable source,
Abhishek and Aishwarya have agreed in
principle to be in Himesh's remake.
"Now, the details are being worked out,"
says the source.

Mixed reviews to Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra's much
awaited biopic, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
finally hit screens yesterday, July 12.
While the entire team including its
actors, Farhan Akhtar, Sonam Kapoor,
Divya Dutta and former athlete Milkha Singh himself shared a very emotional
chord with the film, critics and the
audiences alike have churned out a
mixed bag of opinions.

Our very own Shubhra Gupta stresses on
the fact that though the story is
undoubtedly wondrously inspiring, the
director's portrayal of it seems forced
and hard selling.

Though most agreed that Farhan Akhtar
gave an absolutely out-standing
performance in the film, some said that
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag opened as a
promising film, however, somewhere
along the three hours, the story lost its depth as over-dramatization towards
the end and the usual Bollywood masala
flavor took over.

Though a few claimed the film did not do
justice as a biopic on Milkha Singh, the
former sportman watched Bhaag Milkha
Bhaag on the eve of its release and was
clearly touched by Farhan's performance,
"Farhan has played the part so well, he is almost a duplicate copy of
Milkha Singh
from every angle. He made me cry."

Most of Bollywood showered praise on
Farhan and the BMB team.

Shahrukh Khan- iamsrk
The only race u cant win is the race
against ur past. Wot a lovely
experience is bhaag Milkha.Thanx
Rakyesh & u inspire me my Flying
Farhan

The audience too made sure to give a
shout out to the Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
team. However, not all reactions seemed
positive.

No matter the reviews, Bhaag Milkha
Bhaag has clearly created a rage. The
film collected approximately Rs. 8 cr on
Friday, while the Thursday previews
collected around Rs. 1.05 cr. Business is
expected to escalate for the rest of the weekend.

Farewell Pran: Legendary actor cremated in Mumbai

Legendary actor Pran's last rites have been completed at Mumbai's
Shivaji Park crematorium.

The funeral was attended by lyricist
Gulzar, actors Amitabh Bachchan, Danny
Denzongpa, Shatrughan Sinha, Anupam
Kher and Shakti Kapoor, and director
Karan Johar.

Pran, 93, died last night in Lilavati Hospital
where he had been admitted last month. "It is indeed a very sad day
for us. The last
rites were performed by both the sons,"
his daughter Pinky told news agency PTI.

Pran received the Dadasaheb Phalke
Award this year in May. He was unable to
travel to Delhi to receive the award at the
presentation ceremony because of ill
health. He was given the award at his
home in Mumbai the next day.

Pran, star of films such as Zanjeer and Amar Akbar Anthony , began his
career as a hero in Punjabi films, made a
tremendous impact on Bollywood as the
villain in Dilip Kumar's Ram Aur Shyam and was the first actor to break
stereotype by playing character roles as
well. In the '70s, there was almost no
major film that did not feature Pran and
he was often higher paid than the hero.
Pran was credited with making the role of the villain as important as
the hero's, and
was known for his sophistication and style
on screen.

Pran was also credited with helping actor
Amitabh Bachchan get his biggest break - Zanjeer, which marked the
rise of the Angry Young Man and made Amitabh
Bachchan famous. Pran played one of his
best known roles - the Pathan Sher Khan -
in Zanjeer. He and Amitabh Bachchan formed a long and successful screen
partnership after Zanjeer and struck up a lifelong friendship. Pran
made one of his
last public appearances at Amitabh
Bachchan's 70th birthday party in October
last year.

Pran's other famous films include Madhumati, Half Ticket, Upkar, Kashmir Ki
Kali, Don, Karz, Naseeb and Shahenshah. He last appeared on-screen in

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag: Friday (Day 1) Box Office Collections

There is an immense positive word of
mouth for Farhan Akhtar's Bhaag Milkha Bhaag which is working in its
favor. Over the preview shows itself, the film
collected approx 1.05 crores and in its opening day the film's income
settled for
an approx of 8 crores, as per early estimates. The film's total domestic
collections hence stands at a cumulative
of 9.05 crores approximately at the Box Office.

The Day 1 pick up of the film is good and
over the weekend it can be expected to
fare better but since the film is made on
a lavish budget of around 50 crores, it is
important that it performs bigger in
terms of numbers to recover its cost at the earliest and head towards profits
sooner!

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's last hit was
Rang De Basanti in 2006 and it is
important that Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
highlights his success further.

Ghanchakkar: 2nd Week Box Office Collections

The comic caper Ghanchakkar failed to tickle the funny bone at all it seems. In
its first week the film earned a total of 32 crores at the Domestic
Box Office. But in the entire second week, the film's
collections couldn't go beyond 2.35 crores! With that the film's total
income so far has been 34.35 crores at the Box Office, which is
extremely disappointing.

The Emraan Hashmi-Vidya Balan film
suffered a beating because of its subtle
humor which did not blend extremely
well with the film's theme or premise
making the film a boring spectacle.
Ghanchakkar's box-office collections has minimal chances of improving since
Farhan Akhtar's Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is attempting to be a show stealer this
week!

Pran was completely unlike the villains he played: Amitabh Bachchan

Pran, the actor who elevated the role of villain to greatness and glory in
Bollywood, died at 93 in Mumbai's Lilavati
Hospital last night. Amitabh Bachchan, a
frequent collaborator and lifelong friend,
began the grieving process on his
Facebook page.

Mr Bachchan who said he was on the way
back from Lonavala, wrote: "We have lost
another gem from our beautiful collection
of jewels .. Pran Saheb has passed away !
He had been ailing for some time .. I had
visited him on a few occasions in hospital, and was in touch with his family all
along .."

"He was a gentleman to the core,
completely unlike the villain roles he
played .. at work he was delight to be
with .. always prepared and always on
time - in fact much before time ! His sense
of humour and his dignified presence was a lesson for all of us that
came in contact
with him. The number of films that I did
with him are historic in their concept and
what they meant to me as an artist. It is
an immense legacy that he leaves behind,
one that shall never be matched or replaced. My prayers in this moment of
grief and my condolences to his family,
who have been close to me also."

Pran, who often commanded a higher
salary than the lead actors of the films he
starred in, was credited with helping
Amitabh Bachchan transition from a flop
actor to the Angry Young Man. Director
Prakash Mehra cast Pran in his first supporting role, the Pathan Sher Khan, in
1973 film Zanjeer. He was then stuck for a hero, having asked and been
turned down
by Rajesh Khanna, Dharmendra, Dev
Anand and Raaj Kumar. Pran suggested Mr
Mehra watch the just-released Bombay To Goa starring a little-known
Amitabh Bachchan. And history was made.

Pran and Amitabh Bachchan then formed a
hit partnership, appearing in films like Don, Amar Akbar Anthony ,
Naseeb and Sharaabi.

Mr Bachchan has often written or spoken
about the man who helped get him his
first big break. In April this year, he
praised Pran's professionalism on
Facebook: "Invariably his make up
involved wigs and beards of different nature, but irrespective of the
intricacy of
its bearing and the time consumption in
putting them on, he was always the first
person on set, and never went back to his
make up room even if he was not required
for the shot. He never argued or disagreed with any procedure on the film, never
interfered, just quietly went about his
work and left. He has a great repertoire of
'shayari' and would often entertain us with the choicest works through his
fantastic memory of them."

Pran and Amitabh Bachchan also struck up
a firm friendship with Pran, then 92 and
ill, making a rare public appearance at Mr
Bachchan's 70th birthday party in October
2012.

Sultry Priyanka Chopra in Exotic video

Priyanka Chopra has released her
latest single Exotic that also features
Pitbull. To add the Indian flavor , the
actor has also added a Hindi verse to
the song. The song has secured the
first position on the iTunes library of India, also the video has already got
283,746 in less than 24 hours.

She showed her sexy and sensuous
side, which is unlike her first album In
The City, where she played a cute girl.
130,000 copies of it are said to have
been sold in India. The video was
filmed in Miami and is produced by RedOne.

Priyanka looks hot and sexy in the hot
pants and swimsuits. Now PC is
getting all EXOTIC ..!!

Are Ranbir Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra going to be an onscreen item?

The garma garam news is that the two
talented actors have been roped in for a
Karan Johar film.

So the moment Ranbir Kapoor is done wrapping up Bombay Velvet, he will
start working on his next film. As per the
latest buzz, we will get to see RK and the
Chopra chick getting all romantic
onscreen. If things go as per the plan, this
will be the first time the two heavy duty
performers will be paired together.

Karan Johar hasn't really confirmed this news. He says that the film
is still in the
scripting stage and he hasn't decided on
the main lead yet. And it seems KJo is
also going to introduce a new chick in
one of his new films – we wonder which
one though! We hope not in this one coz seeing Ranbu and the Chopra chick
together will be an absolute visual
delight. Also Karan will be directing the
Kapoor kid for the first time. We are sure
that the two after working together
in Bombay Velvet will create some great fireworks in their next
project as well…!
To know more, stay tuned to this space.

Lootera (7 days) first week collection at Box Office

Bollywood movie Lootera, which has
turned out to be the biggest opener for
Ranveer Singh, has topped the collection
chart, overtaking Sanjay Dutt starrer
Policegiri at the Indian Box Office in the
first week. The movie has smashed the first week business record of Ranveer's
previous outing Ladies vs Ricky Bahl,
which was the biggest success in his
career.

Having debuted with an average
occupancy, Lootera showed growth in its
collection on Saturday and Sunday. The
film, which was raved by film critics, did
better business in multiplexes, when
compared to single screens. It collected Rs 18.50 crores nett at the Indian Box
Office in the first weekend. Its breakup
is Rs 5.15 cr on Fri, Rs 6 cr on Sat and Rs
7.35 cr on Sun.

When compared to its opening day
collection, Lootera witnessed more than
50% dip in its business on Monday and it
continued to drop throughout the week.
On weekdays, the Ranveer Singh and
Sonakshi Sinha starrer has collected Rs 8.30 crores at the Indian Box Office,
taking its first week total to Rs 26.80
crores nett. Its breakup is Rs 2.7 cr on
Mon, Rs 2.1 cr on Tue, Rs 1.9 cr on Wed
and Rs 1.6 cr on Thu.

Ranveer Singh's last release Ladies vs
Ricky Bahl starring Anushka Sharma and
Parineeti Chopra alongside him, had
collected Rs 23 crores nett at the
domestic Box Office in first week.
Whereas his latest outing Lootera has shattered this record, by surpassing Rs
25 crore mark in seven days.

Abhishek Bachchan, Karan tweets about Shahrukh's baby AbRam

It seems that the whole Bollywood is
celebrating the arrival of Shahrukh
Khan's baby boy AbRam. Recently, Karan
Johar and Abhishek Bachchan welcomed
the new born child on micro blogging
site Twitter.

Shahrukh Khan on Wednesday
announced the birth of his surrogate
baby AbRam. Talking about Shahrukh's
bundle of joy, Karan Johar posted on
Twitter, "AbRam is the most beautiful
child i have ever laid my eyes on...he is to the Mannat born and has made the
home even more beautiful..."

Bollywood actor Abhishek also
welcomed the baby and tweeted, "Many
many congratulations to @iamsrk and
Gauri for the arrival of little AbRam. Lots
and lots of love."

Shobhaa De congratulated both Shahrukh
and Gauri, she wrote, "Welcome to the
world AbRam! I love the significance and
symbolism of the name. Congratulations,
parents!"

Shahrukh Khan revealed the news of the
surrogate baby recently. The actor told
the media, "Amidst all the noise that has
been going around, the sweetest is the
one made by our newborn baby, AbRam.
He was born prematurely by several months but has finally come home. Gauri
and our whole family have been dealing
with his health issues for a long time
now."

Now, Shahrukh is blessed with two
sons-Aryan and AbRam and one
daughter-Suhana.

Varun Dhawan, new action hero in the making

The young actor, who is one film old in
the industry, wants to earn a name for
himself as an action hero. Varun
confesses he takes inspiration from the
original stuntman of Bollywood Akshay
Kumar.

He feels that he has been lucky to
achieve success early in his life but is
very particular that he dose not want to
risk it all by succumbing to monotony.

The buzz is that Varun is gearing up for
some daredevil stunts in Ekta Kapoor's
film that is being directed by his father
David Dhawan. He will also receive
formal training in martial arts.

A leading publication quoted Varun as
saying, "I've watched Akshay's
perfection in performing stunts and that
comes because of martial arts. My target
is to do my own stunts with conviction
and perfection. Just like my senior actors, I want to gain respect for
giving 100 per
cent to my stunts."

RAMAIYA VASTAVAIYA: Will Prabhudheva score with a romantic saga?

For Prabhudheva as well, RAMAIYA VASTAVAIYA would be an acid test, as
it would be perhaps for the first time that he would be directing a
movie which is not peppered with ample dozes of South Indian style of
action that was catalyst in giving a new lease of life to the acting
careers of Salman Khan through WANTED and to Akshay Kumar through
ROWDY RATHORE while ABCD was a film that had dance as the reference
point, which is the
forte of Prabhudheva.

So along with Girish Kumar and Shruti Hassan there is credibility of
Prabhudheva at stake as well, with RAMAIYYA VASTAVAIYA and it indeed
would be a real challenge for Prabhudheva to deconstruct himself
before his fans in the world of Hindi cinema and carve a niche as a
director who can also create romantic sagas as well.

The film industry believes in totems and one of the totems associated
with Prabhudheva, it may be accepted or not accepted, is the fact that
his numbers on the screen, be it in the form of item songs or as a
song become a roaring hit and they ensure the footfall from the
audience, be it ABCD, or OH, MY GOD!, or WANTED, or ROWDY RATHORE the
dance numbers that he enacts on the screen for his films, turn out to
be the talking point. In case of RAMAIYA VASTAVAIYA as well it is
'Jadoo Ki Jhappi' which has started making waves and Prabhudheva has
ensured that this item number would bring in footfalls.

As a matter of fact Prabhudheva would be one of the those rare
directors who is one of the most successful male item number dancer as
well, be it 'Govinda' from OH MY GOD, 'Chinta Chinta' from ROWDY
RATHORE or 'Jadoo Ki Jhappi' from RAMAIYA VASTAVAIYA and his item
numbers bring in footfalls which no other director perhaps is able to ensure.

Is John Abraham making fun of Salman Khan's abs and muscles?

John Abraham seems to be in no mood
to invite rival Salman Khan for a coffee
at his Madras Café as the two are
showing signs of a possible ego clash.

Think of the two hottest macho men of
Bollywood and Salman Khan and John
Abraham come to your mind. But like
two beautiful actresses of Bollywood
don't exchange pleasantries; John
Abraham doesn't seem to be too comfortable with the comparison to
Salman Khan.

John Abraham is playing the role of an
Indian Intelligence Agent in his second
production venture Madras Café, similar
to Salman Khan's Raw Agent role in Ek
Tha Tiger. However, not comfortable
with the comparison, John Abraham reportedly said that raw agents do not
jump like spiderman and flaunt six pack
abs. Looking down at Ek Tha Tiger which
had several intense stunts performed by
the oh-so-perfect Salman Khan, John
Abraham objected to the lack of reality missing from the movie.

For the record, John and Salman have
been stiff competitors since long but the
ice began to melt down when John
praised Salman Khan in an interview to
the media. However, friendship seems
to be a tough nut to crack for the two rivals as John takes Salman Khan head-
on ahead of his film's release.

Salman Khan and Varun Dhawan getting ready for London

In the next two months, both Salman
Khan and newcomer Varun Dhawan are
set to head to London.

Turns out that Varun's next, Main Tera
Hero, which is directed by father David
Dhawan, is currently being shot in the
country, but its next schedule will begin
in London.

Similarly, the much-awaited Kick, which also marks producer Sajid Nadiadwala's
directorial debut, will have Khan and his
co-star Jacqueline Fernandez kick-start
the schedule there. If sources are to be
believed, then the makers plan to shoot
in London for a couple of months without a break.

Salman Khan will not work with Arbaaz Khan!

Salman Khan is the perfect badey bhaiyya, the actor has resurrected
careers of his brothers Arbaaz and Sohail
Khan. But now the actor has had enough
of hand-holding. We've learnt that Sallu
wants Arbaaz to ride solo; and will not be
a part of his next film. Sallu had earlier handed over the reins of Dabangg 2 to
Arbaaz, who helmed the project as the
producer, director and also played a key
role in it. The movie managed to make
moolah, but didn't really create the
prequel's impact.

With Salman out and a new director
Abhishek Dogra on board, we at BL have
exclusive dope about how Katrina might
step in to carry this film on her shoulder.
While Arbaaz and Dogra have finalised
the script and the the cast will be finalised by the end of this year.
Abhishek has previously assisted R Balki
in Paa and having Katrina Kaif as his lead will certainly give this
debutant director
a starry launch.

Salman Khan to work with Pulkit Samrat

He is known to mentor youngsters (like
Katrina Kaif and Arjun Kapoor among
others) in Bollywood. And now, it looks
like Salman Khan has taken yet another
actor under his wing — Pulkit Samrat
(who is engaged to Shweta Rohira, Salman's rakhi-sister).

Pulkit has already been roped in to play the lead in Atul Agnihotri's
political thriller, O Teri.
And now, news is that Salman has signed
on the Delhi lad for his next, Mental,
which is being directed by his brother
Sohail.

"Salman has been impressed with Pulkit
since he did Bittoo Boss, and now with
Fukrey too. So when a role came up that
suited him, he wanted to him to be a part
of Mental. As far as we know, Pulkit has
already shot for the film with Salman in Hyderabad," says an industry insider.

For the past several days, Salman has
been stationed in Hyderabad to wrap up
Mental. Salman had even tweeted a
week ago: "Fukrey Going to see it vil
pulkit one of these days wen he is
shooting vit me heard its amazing he is supposed to be fantastic in it (sic)."

Meanwhile, the shooting of O Teri where
Pulkit will be seen opposite Sarah Jane
Dias is almost over. Only Salman needs to
shoot a song and a few scenes for the
film.
