Zanjeer Music Review
Star rating: 2/5 (Two Stars)
Music Director: Meet Bros Anjan Ankit, Chirantan Bhatt, Anand Raj Anand
Zanjeer's music is nothing like its 1973 version and in the first shot
itself, one
can see how unimpressive its faulty
tracks are. While veterans Kalyanji-
Anandji can't count on Zanjeer amongst
their best albums, music director
Chirantan Bhatt with his contemporary twist makes a convoluted album which
has mediocre tracks and dull numbers!
Mumbai Ke Hero – Zanjeer Music
Review
Beginning off with Mumbai Ke Hero, which is loaded with heavy voice Big B
dialogues from the original film, has the
reminiscent nostalgic tug to it. Talia
Bentson with the Brit rapping could just
have been left out for the good of the
song. It is an anthem number that paints a very cool picture of the
Mumbai Police!
Pinky – Zanjeer Music Review
Pinky is a washed down ala Munni number which is served with Marathi
spicy! Quite an entertaining number, it
surely isn't as peppy as the likes of Munni
but it still doesn't falter as bad as the
rest of the album.
Lamha Tera Mera – Zanjeer Music
Review
Lamha Tera Mera is wonderfully thought song for sure, however, in the process of
execution it goes haywire. Wajhi and
Palak Muchchal have beautiful voices that
blend finely to compliment each other.
Not entirely enjoyable as the beats lose
focus from time to time, you can be assured that there is potential in the
song which doesn't see the light of the
day.
Khochey Pathan Ki Zubaan (Qawaali) –
Zanjeer Music Review
Kochey Pathan is a brilliantly created
qawalli. Fashioned on Manna Dey's Yaari
Hai from the original film, Sukhwinder
Singh's energetic voice renders credible
mood and tunes to the song! Not at par
with iconic memorabilia Yaari Hai…this one still counts as the best
track from the
album.
Kaatilana – Zanjeer Music Review
Shweta Pandit sings Kaatilana with
fantastic energy. Giving the right amount
of sensuous and grace to the song, it is a
well create song that strike the right
notes and is favorable to the ears!
Shakila Baanoo – Zanjeer Music Review
Shreya Ghosal in the character painted
song Shakila Baanoo is flat like the song
itself. It doesn't seem vivacious and the
song is quite a yawn incurring bore!
Overall, An overtly tedious album that rambles on
sluggish with barely a few hearable
numbers, I cannot settle for anything
above 2/5 for this one. Kochey Pathan
and Kaatilana, both had some potential
but overall the album stumbles for the dwindling energy and lack of creative
bent!

Parineeti reacts on Katrina's bikini pics with Ranbir
Katrina Kaif and her alleged boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor's holiday
pictures grabbed attention and made people react on their personal
life.
After Salman Khan and Deepika Padukone, its Parineeti Chopra who has
put forward her opinion on the highly sensational Ranbir-Katrina
leaked holiday pictures. The actress is of the opinion that even
though actors are public figures they have a right to object if they
feel their personal life comes in front of the camera.
Parineeti seems to be in support of Kat and Ranbir and believes that
its unfair to expect all stars to be open up about their
relationships.
Do you agree with Parineeti?

Madras Cafe | 1st Day Box-Office Collection
Madras Cafe, given the critics' praise began quite well at the box office.
Earning a moderate moolah in the range
of 4 crores, as per early estimates, the film picked up towards the
latter half of
the day on Friday.
In the multiplexes, the film fared better
as urban centres and metropolitan cities
raked up better earnings as contrast to

Chennai Express' box office grip might have begin to loosen and the film will
have good space to show its caliber at

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan steals ad deal from Katrina Kaif!
The tinsel town is full of competitions and to survive, one has to
push the other so as to stay on the top. The recent buzz is that
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who has been away from the silver screen for a
long time now, is all in with a new advertisement deal and if the
rumors are to be believed, she has snatched this opportunity from the
leggy lass Katrina Kaif.
As per reports, she will endorse the company's 17.5-acre premium
project 'The Park'. The rumors are that the company had earlier talked
about the project with Katrina but later on, they signed in Aish and
did not even bring this to Kat's notice. Also, Miss Kaif seems to be
quite upset with the advertising company.
The news was confirmed by a source close to the development who said,
"Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's name was announced with great fanfare. But
it was actuallyKatrina Kaif who had been approached first and she had
even signed the dotted lines. However, the contract got stuck for some
unknown reason and she was unceremoniously dropped from the project.
Kat had no idea she had been replaced by Aish."
It seems that Mrs Bachchan has a close connection with the company
because she owns a four-bedroom flat in Worli, constructed by the same
company.

Biopic on Gujarat Chief Minister announced!
There's a new biopic in line for Bollywood and this time it will be on
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, as
per reports. Producer-Director Mitesh Patel has planned to make the
biopic and is even looking for the permission from Mr. Modi.
Confirming the news, Patel said, "I am inspired by Narendra Modi's
journey from a common tea stall owner to a Chief-Minister."
Mitesh Patel, who originallycomes from Vadodara, Gujarat, is settled
in USA (California). He was quite impressed and inspired by the
Narendra Modi's journey from a tea-stall vendor to a renowned
politico.
He added, "I will try to cover various parts of his life — his
childhood, working as a ground level RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh)
member, to becoming the Gujarat CM."
Patel even said that the film will not completely be a biopic as it
will have some fictional elements in it.
Over seeking Modi's consent, he reportedly said, "I met Modi to get
his consent for the film, which he says, "will
not be a biopic, but will be based on his life. We'll add fictional
elements. The script is not 100% about his life. Technically, we don't
need permission, but we sought it as we don't want trouble."
However, biopic has become the recent trend in B-Town. From Milan
Luthria's 'Dirty Picture' (a biopic on south sex symbol Silk Smitha),
Tigmanshu Dhulia's 'Paan Singh Tomar' (biopic on a runner), Mani
Ratnam's 'Guru' (a biopic on life of Dhiru Bhai Ambani), Shimit Amin's
'Chak De India' (a biopic on Indian Hockey player Mir Ranjan Negi) to
the recent Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra's 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' (biopic on
legendary athlete Mikha Singh); biopics have always liked and welcomed
by audiences.

Salman’s Ganpati changes abode
Salman Khan's Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations will have a bigger and
better venue this year. The actor has hosted Lord Ganesha at his
Bandra home for the past eleven years but this year the ceremonies
will take place at the Khan family's Panvel farmhouse.
The reason for the change of plans is the ongoing renovations at the
actor's Galaxy Apartments pad. The family was earlier considering
hosting the pooja at their new residence at Pacific Heights but on
Monday they decided that Panvel will be a better choice.
A source close to the family said, "The new house is a rented place
and the farmhouse is far more spacious and comfortable, so they
decided on it" When contacted, Salim Khan said, "Yes, we are thinking
of organising the Ganpati celebration at Panvel. Galaxy of course is
ruled out because we are renovating the place."
Salman's sisters Alvira and Arpita plan to reach the farmhouse three
days before the festival begins on September 9 to oversee preparations
including food and decor. This is the 12th year that the
elephant-headed God is visiting the Khan residence and the tradition
was started at the insistence of Arpita, the youngest of the siblings.
The Khans will also do the visarjan at Panvel, close to their
farmhouse. Non-vegetarian food and alcohol is banned in the days ahead
of the festival. Instead, Salman's mother turns out delicacies like
modak, puri, aloo bhaji and chana usal.
Meanwhile... Mental may soon get a new moniker Salman's next film
Mental may release as Jai Ho instead. But the change will not be an
easy one as the producer of the film, Sohail Khan, needs no objection
letters, from Ramesh Taurani, Nikhil Advani and Madhur Bhandarkar, as
the three had registered the same title a couple of years ago.
At the time of going to press, we learnt that Nikhil has already
cleared the decks for Sohail while Ramesh will deliberate on the issue
after getting back from his Bangkok holiday. "Nobody has called me for
the title yet. I will come back and check on this," Ramesh told us.
Bhandarkar, who parted with the title Gutka for Karan Johar some
months back, too is yet to issue the letter.TOI has it that Sohail is
also toying with the idea of naming the film Aazad.

Issue on screens for 'OUATIMD' is unfounded: Shah Rukh
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan says the issue over the allotment of screens
for the release of Ekta Kapoor's 'Once Upon A time In Mumbai Dobaara'
is a little unfounded as 'Chennai Express' producers UTV did make way
for Balaji's request.
Ekta's mother Shobha Kapoor, who
released Akshay Kumar starrer 'Once
Upon...' a week later on August 15, had
expressed disappointment with UTV over the sharing of screens.
Shah Rukh said the commitment from
the producers UTV was well clarified with the makers of 'Once Upon...'
and he was not involved in any discussion.
"We had booked single screen theatres
for two weeks. A desire came from there
(Balaji) that look we are coming on August 15 and can you give us some
theatres. I don't do the business, they
(UTV) said we will give you 40 to 50 per cent(screen space) which we did," Shah
Rukh told PTI in an interview.
"Our film was earlier supposed to release on Thursday, it then got
shifted to Friday, a week means seven days and everyone has the right
to run their film for seven days. So seven days got over and we gave
them the theatres on Friday. If there is an issue or complaint about
this, I think it is little unfounded," he said.
The makers of 'Once Upon...' had pushed
the release date of their film to August
15 to avoid a clash with 'Chennai Express'
at SRK's request.
There were media reports that Ekta was
assured by the production house that
they will withdraw their film on August
15 to make way for 'OUATIMD' in at least
2,000 halls across the country.
"I think sometimes when you talk about
the business part then you start taking
my name because I stand for the
business part of Red Chillies or I am the
face of this film. I don't think there is any
reason, as far as UTV is concerned, to have an issue with Balaji. As far as I
am concerned I was not part of the
business," Shah Rukh said.
Last year, Ajay Devgn and Yash Raj Films
also had a similar issue over the number
of screens alloted for the release of 'Son
of Sardaar' and late Yash Chopra's 'Jab
Tak Hai Jaan'.
Ajay had alleged that YRF used its
dominant position following which his
movie ('Son of Sardaar') was unable to
find enough single screen theatres for
exhibition.
Recollecting the matter, Shah Rukh said,
"Yashji had expired and 'Son of Sardaar'
was coming, Ajay is a friend... I could
have gone and requested him that out of
respect do it(change the release date).
But I did not.
"Everybody has the right to release the
film as and when they wish to. I don't
think this 'OUATIMD' was a small film, I
don't think it was backed by small
producers. They had the right to release
it when they wanted. If they wanted to release it on August 8, God bless them
and if they wanted to release it on
August 15, their decision," he said.
When asked if what the makers of
'OUATIMD' were doing was unfair, the
actor said, "No, not at all, you have a
platform to say what you have to. They
might be feeling it that way."
Shah Rukh is happy with the response his
film is garnering at the box office. "I knew it was a holiday period. I think
every film that comes around this time
will have a little benefit of Eid,
Independence day or Raksha Bandhan.
We were little anxious but we knew we
had a good product. But we had not expected this
kind of love and acceptance," he said.
"This level of acceptance... it happens
magically. We can't calculate such things
in advance. We did not know 'Dilwale
Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' will be loved for 18
years. Kajol, Adi and me did not know
that it will do so well," he said. Shah Rukh says he never keeps a tab on
box office collection but with the kind of
response Rohit Shetty directed 'Chennai
Express' is garnering it is becoming
unavoidable for him to not pay attention
to the figures.
The 'King Khan' is happy that even his
children Aryan and Suhana have loved the
film.
"I never talk acting or films at home,
neither they do. So when they start liking
something it feels really great. I feel very
proud when they like my work. My son
saw the film 'Chennai Express' with 40 of
his friends and they all liked it. Normally, my kids don't discuss or
talk about my
films at home but this film they discussed
a lot and I am thrilled they did it," he
added.

don't think it was backed by small
producers. They had the right to release
it when they wanted. If they wanted to release it on August 8, God bless them
and if they wanted to release it on
August 15, their decision," he said.
When asked if what the makers of
'OUATIMD' were doing was unfair, the
actor said, "No, not at all, you have a
platform to say what you have to. They
might be feeling it that way."
Shah Rukh is happy with the response his
film is garnering at the box office. "I knew it was a holiday period. I think
every film that comes around this time
will have a little benefit of Eid,
Independence day or Raksha Bandhan.
We were little anxious but we knew we
had a good product. But we had not expected this
kind of love and acceptance," he said.
"This level of acceptance... it happens
magically. We can't calculate such things
in advance. We did not know 'Dilwale
Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' will be loved for 18
years. Kajol, Adi and me did not know
that it will do so well," he said. Shah Rukh says he never keeps a tab on
box office collection but with the kind of
response Rohit Shetty directed 'Chennai
Express' is garnering it is becoming
unavoidable for him to not pay attention
to the figures.
The 'King Khan' is happy that even his
children Aryan and Suhana have loved the
film.
"I never talk acting or films at home,
neither they do. So when they start liking
something it feels really great. I feel very
proud when they like my work. My son
saw the film 'Chennai Express' with 40 of
his friends and they all liked it. Normally, my kids don't discuss or
talk about my
films at home but this film they discussed
a lot and I am thrilled they did it," he
added.
Salman Khan - the original trendsetter of Bollywood
As Salman celebrates 25 years in the industry, here's looking at his
trendsetting moments
FIRST DAY FIRST SHOW:
Salman Khan debuted in Bollywood feet first, literally. The film was
Biwi Ho To Aisi which released on August 22 1988. With Bonny Tyler's
Holding Out For A Hero blasting in the background, his feet bound onto
the screen, in an un-coordinated jig. We soon get our first glimpse of
the would-be superstar. Before the bad reputation and the shaved
chest, here is the actor as a floppy haired young man with no bulging
biceps to boast of.
DIRTY DANCING:
If Salman shakes his derriere, the rest of the world follows and the
actor is to blame for all the pelvic thrusting we see on dance floors
across the country. Be it the towel dance from Mujhse Shaadi Karoge or
the choreography of Dabangg which uses a belt as a prop, the complete
lack of finesse does not seem to deter Salman fans. The moves are then
replicated everywhere, from reality TV to kinder garten talent
contests.
HAIR RAISING STUFF:
Salman's fans are a loyal bunch and they readily follow their idol
into territories beyond good taste. A prime example is the infamous
Tere Naam haircut. The actor played a man driven to madness by love
and Salman's hair is testimony to the crazed state of the character's
mind, gelled, long tresses parted in the middle. No one in his right
mind would have emulated the look but millions of Sallu fans did and a
trend was born.
SHIRT OFF HIS BACK:
The actor's hairy chest was splashed across the poster of the 1989
release Maine Pyaar Kiya, with Bhagyashree clinging to his knee. There
began the macho posturing which has since become Salman's signature
stance. It was after his 1988 hit Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya that his
torso gained a fan following of its own. All and sundry have since
joined the six-pack pack but no one does it better or more often than
Salman, the original bare- chested hero.
BLUE EYED BEAUTY:
The Katrinas and the Aishwaryas may come and go, but a certain Feroza
has stood by Salman through it all. The actor is rarely seen without
his chunky bracelet with a blue stone and the accessory is now as much
a part of Salman's pop culture oeuvre as his shiny, slippery chest.
The bracelet is a Khan family tradition with Sallu's father Salim Khan
too sporting one. The latest nod to Feroza came with Imran Khan
sporting a similar one in OUATIMD.
