Kamal Haasan: Vishwaroopam 2 not my arrogance, but confidence

Veteran actor Kamal Haasan is all set to bring the sequel to his last
controversial outing Vishwaroopam and the veteran actor-director says he is
confident that the second part will be
successful.

Haasan, 58, who plays the lead character of
Major Wisam Ahmad Kashmiri in the film,
faced many hurdles in its release after the
Madras High Court banned the film in Tamil
Nadu.

The political storm over the release of Vishwaroopam affected Haasan
financially, as he had pledged his property
to make the mega budget movie. The issue
was resolved after a delay of two weeks.

However, Haasan does not feel that he is
moving too fast with the sequel,
considering the troubles he faced in the
release of the first film.

"I don't make films for publicity rather I
want my film to be enjoyed by my
audience. Generally, people wait for a year
and then decide a film's sequel. But, I was
sure from the beginning that I will bring
the second part too. Vishwaroopam 2 is not my arrogance rather it is my
confidence," Haasan said on the sidelines
of the IIFA awards.

The actor, who is also the writer and
director of the film, said he had written
the story in two parts.

"I had written the film in two parts and
wanted to tell my audience the complete
story. We decided to do it in two parts so
that individually both the parts can work,"
he said. The new film, which is currently in the
shooting stage, will explore the emotional
angle of human relationships.

"I am aware of the fact that my first film
went through many hurdles as people
created issues with it without watching it.
The second part is both a sequel and
prequel and it will focus on the romantic
and emotional aspect now. It will be technologically more advanced. We have
shot a scene underwater too," said Haasan.
