Salman Khan, who is launching Sooraj
Pancholi in the remake Hero (1983), has
reportedly preponed the project to
expedite Sooraj's career. Sooraj was in
judicial custody for allegedly abetting
actor Jiah Khan's death.
"Hero was to start in 2014 but will now
start in Nov 2013. Salman has asked the team to start work," a source told a
Mumbai tabloid.
Recently, sources close to the Pancholi
family informed that Salman might
organise a press conference in a few
days' time to clear the air over Sooraj's
debut venture. Aditya Pancholi's 22-year-old
son was granted bail on July 2.
"There have been lots of
conflicting reports concerning
Hero's remake, which also stars
Suniel Shetty's daughter Athiya.
It is being co-produced by
Salman. Now that Sooraj has been given a clean chit by the
court, Salman is considering
clarifying things officially with
the media," says an insider. "In all likelihood, he'll go ahead
with the conference, but things
are yet to be confirmed since he
is busy shooting for Mental in
Hyderabad."
A few days ago, Subhash Ghai,
the co-producer of the remake,
said in a report that the makers
"have not yet confirmed Sooraj
or Athiya" for the film. He also
told HT Café that "Salman will take the final call on this".
Though Salman has remained tight-lipped
about this case so far, on June 2, he
tweeted saying, "Arre haan sooooo happy
that sooraj got bail (sic)." When contacted, Aditya says, "If he
(Salman) is planning a press meet, you
guys (media) will get to know. I can't say
anything about it.
