Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan successfully underwent surgery in Mumbai
on Sunday to remove an old blood clot on
the brain surface. He is in post operative
care right now and has been advised three
weeks of rest.
Dr VK Mishra, who was attending to the
actor, confirmed that the operation had
been successful. "The operation (brain
surgery) has been successful. He is fully
conscious," he said. He also revealed that
the actor had injured himself while performing a stunt scene a couple of
months ago but did not take it seriously.
Hrithik, who was originally supposed to
leave for Prague on Sunday for a schedule
of his film Bang Bang, had been complaining of persistent nagging
headaches. His family decided to get an
MRI done. The test confirmed a clot behind
his lobe. After consultations with doctors,
Indian and a neurosurgeon from abroad
operated on him at the Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital. An hole was drilled
in his skull
and the blood sucked out under local
anesthesia.
Apparently the condition is quite common
among athletes and boxers. The 39-year-old was wheeled out of the
operation theatre around 3 pm at the
Hinduja Hospital. His parents and wife
Sussanne were present throughout the 50-
minute neuro-surgery to correct the
chronic subdural hematoma condition.
Hrithik's father Rakesh Roshan said: "The
surgery is over and Hrithik is fine. He
should be out of the hospital in the next 48
hours." Hrithik is out of danger and on way to
complete recovery, he said.
Before the surgery, Rakesh Roshan told
IANS: "It's a clot between the brain and
the skull. So basically it's a clot in the brain.
He will undergo the surgery around 2 pm or
2.30 pm. In medical terms, it's called
chronic subdural hematoma. Me and my entire family is with him."
Hrithik, who has starred in films like Krrish and Agneepath, also
informed everyone about the surgery through his post on
Facebook. On June 27, Hrithik unveiled the first look
of his superhero film Krrish 3 on Facebook. The much anticipated
sci-fi thriller is set to
hit the screens on November 4, a day after
Diwali this year.
Apart from that, Hrithik is also associated
with Dharma Productions Shuddhi, scheduled to go on floors end-2013, and
Fox Star Studios' Bang Bang. "Fox Star Studios joins millions of
superstar Hrithik
Roshan's fans and well-wishers across the
world in wishing him a speedy recovery.
Hrithik's health and well-being is the top
priority at this moment. As a consequence,
the shoot of the upcoming third schedule of Siddharth Anand's Bang
Bang has been moved forward. We shall update the dates
of the new schedule at an opportune
time," said a statement from the banner.
This is not the first time, Hrithik had a
surgery. A couple of years ago, he went in
for a knee surgery in the US.

Salman Khan irks over leaked bare chested picture
While he doesn't bother too much about what the gossip columns write,
Salman Khan is known to be fiercely protective of his personal space.
What happens inside, usually stays inside; be it his parties abroad or
at his Panvel farmhouse or Galaxy Apartments
So when the actor recently stumbled upon an old picture of himself
with brothers Arbaaz and Sohail; all posing bare- chested at what
looks like a private party, it irked him no end. So much so, he
summoned his entire staff, including past employees, and grilled them
about how the photograph found its way to the Internet.
The photo in question was taken two years ago in Malaysia, where the
trio had gone with a group of friends to participate in a charity
football match. Almost as soon as it was captured, someone went ahead
and posted it online on a fan forum called Being Human Salman Fan
Club. Just that Salman hadn't seen it, until recently.
A source close to the actor told TOI, "Salman doesn't bother about
these things. What matters to him is his work and his family. But when
he spotted this picture online, he got very upset. He called all his
staff, including those who were working with him two years ago, and
asked them who leaked out the picture. He made it clear to them he
didn't want a repeat of the incident."

Anurag Kashyap took me out of grave, says struggling actor
Actor Vineet Kumar Singh, who has been struggling for 14 years, thanks
Anurag Kashyap for bailing him out by
roping him in for his films.
The actor featured in Kashyap's Gangs Of Wasseypur and Bombay Talkies
and won critical acclaim for his performance in both
the films. Now, he will also be seen in the
filmmaker's forthcoming projects - Ugly and Shorts.
"Anurag Kashyap is my godfather and he is
my mentor. I am really thankful to him. He
is the one who took me out of grave. I
have been struggling for 14 long years and
now I am getting recognition for my hard
work," Vineet told IANS. "I came to Mumbai in 1999 and I had a
tough time, but I have realised one thing -
your journey may be difficult, but in
Bollywood there is space for everyone," he
added.
Vineet says Gangs Of Wasseypur is not his debut film. "Earlier, I
worked in Marathi film like City Of Gold and in Bengali films as well,
but Gangs... was the turning point in my career. I had done many films
for my survival. I
even played Emraan Hashmi's father in Crook."
Now, the actor seems to be on a roll - he
will also be seen in Issaq and Dharma Productions' Gori Tere Pyaar
Mein. "Right now I am in a happy space and I am
enjoying the fact that now I am getting
the kind of roles that I have craved for,"
said Vineet.

Salman Khan's rumoured girlfriend is married already?
We told you a few days ago that Salman
Khan's newest interest, Iulia Vantur, has
accompanied him to Hyderabad, where
the actor is shooting for a film.
While the grapevine is buzzing with
Sallu's alleged affair with the Romanian
TV anchor, we ran a status check on Iulia
to find out more about her.
It seems that not too long ago, Iulia was
dating Grammy-nominated musician
Marius Moga, who's also Romanian. The
couple - tabloid darlings in eastern
Europe - have been on a roller-coaster
ride together, breaking up and getting back together a couple of times.
Their tumultuous affair and highly-
publicized PDA regularly grabbed
headlines.
Marius is a name to reckon with in
Romania as a composer, producer and
singer, who dabbles in pop, R&B and club
music. Iulia's tryst with fame came after
she started co-hosting the show, Dansez
Pentru Tine (Romanian edition of the popular show Dancing With The Stars).
While there's been a lot of gossip about
Marius and Iulia, at least one Facebook
page of Marius declares them married. Apart from his relationship status that
says 'married to Iulia Vantur', there's also
a post from August 7, 2012, clearly
showing the two locking lips. If this ain't
love, what is?
Maybe, Salman would be able to tell.

producer Boney Kapoor and two children, Jhanvi
and Khushi. She will
be performing after a long time and the veteran actress is very
excited as well as tensed. She will shake
her legs with ace choreographer and
director Prabhu Deva.
Speaking about her performance the
actress said, "I am performing on stage
after a long time. I will not say much
about my performance but I must say
that it is tough to dance with
Prabhudeva," Press Trust of India reported.
Sridevi landed in Macau dressed in black
top and floral leggings and she was
looking as usual ravishing. She received a
warm welcome from her fans in Macau.
Surprised to see her fan's excitement,
Sridevi said "I did not know I have such a huge fan base here. My trip
is almost like
a family vacation as my family is
accompanying me."
When filmmaker Boney was asked
whether he will try a hand at casino, the
producer said, "Yes, I will. If I win then I
will try more or else I will pack my bags
and go home." Sridevi's act was
choreographed by Remo and it was heard that she was not happy with the dance
number. Remo has chose contemporary
dance forms for Sri but the actress
wanted something classical based and
she demanded for a change. But as there
was no time left for any changes, she had to stick to the contemporary style.
The event will be co-hosted by Shahrukh Khan and Shahid Kapoor. The
three-day long extravagance will
commence on 4 July and will see
performance by Madhuri Dixit, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan,
Parineeti Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Varun
Dhawan, Sushant Singh Rajput and the

Vir Das to test own versatility with dark role in Revolver Rani
Vir Das, who has made audiences roll out in laughter with movies such
as Delhi Belly and Go Goa Gone, will be seen in a serious and dark
role in Tigmanshu
Duhlia's Revolver Rani and the actor says he wanted to test his own versatility.
The movie also features Kangana Ranaut
in the role of a gangster.
"Revolver Rani is a dark love story played between Kangana and me. It
is a spiral
and a very dark human and emotional
story. I just wanted to see if I could do it,"
Vir said on the sidelines of the
International Indian Film Academy (IIFA)
weekend and awards here.
He also has a love story in hand. It is titled Sooper Se Ooper. "It is
a romance story set in Rajasthan,"
said Vir, who recently announced that he
will write and produce a "high concept
comedy" movie with filmmaker Nikhil
Advani.
Vir, a popular stand-up comedian, says he
enjoys doing different things within the
comedy genre.
"To me, the trick is not how can I make
people laugh. It is, how can I make people
laugh in a different way. I share a good
rapport with my audience, but I can't
always do pathbreaking cinema. "You can't always do Delhi Belly and Go
Goa Gone! Sometimes you just have to jump into it," he said.
Also, Vir said a good comedy film can't be
average. "I think comedy is a double-edged sword.
A bad song you will either watch or won't
watch. But bad comedy can make you
want to commit murder. There's nothing
called okay comedy. It is either good or
bad. And that's more challenging," he said.
At IIFA, Vir has been busy promoting his
forthcoming comedy film Santa Banta with co-actor Boman Irani. He says
"it is just stupid comedy".
"This is my loudest performance till date,"
added the actor, who admits he had his
apprehensions about taking on the project. "It was one of those
projects which I was
oscillating back and forth. It is completely
against my image. Akashdeep's (director
Akashdeep Sabir) greatest strength was
that he got the right people in the room
together," he said.

Kamal Haasan: Vishwaroopam 2 not my arrogance, but confidence
Veteran actor Kamal Haasan is all set to bring the sequel to his last
controversial outing Vishwaroopam and the veteran actor-director says he is
confident that the second part will be
successful.
Haasan, 58, who plays the lead character of
Major Wisam Ahmad Kashmiri in the film,
faced many hurdles in its release after the
Madras High Court banned the film in Tamil
Nadu.
The political storm over the release of Vishwaroopam affected Haasan
financially, as he had pledged his property
to make the mega budget movie. The issue
was resolved after a delay of two weeks.
However, Haasan does not feel that he is
moving too fast with the sequel,
considering the troubles he faced in the
release of the first film.
"I don't make films for publicity rather I
want my film to be enjoyed by my
audience. Generally, people wait for a year
and then decide a film's sequel. But, I was
sure from the beginning that I will bring
the second part too. Vishwaroopam 2 is not my arrogance rather it is my
confidence," Haasan said on the sidelines
of the IIFA awards.
The actor, who is also the writer and
director of the film, said he had written
the story in two parts.
"I had written the film in two parts and
wanted to tell my audience the complete
story. We decided to do it in two parts so
that individually both the parts can work,"
he said. The new film, which is currently in the
shooting stage, will explore the emotional
angle of human relationships.
"I am aware of the fact that my first film
went through many hurdles as people
created issues with it without watching it.
The second part is both a sequel and
prequel and it will focus on the romantic
and emotional aspect now. It will be technologically more advanced. We have
shot a scene underwater too," said Haasan.

IIFA Rocks pays tribute to 100 years of Indian cinema
An ode to villains and vamps, and the 100 years of Indian cinema was given
at the Grey Goose IIFA Rocks event on Day
2 of the International Indian Film
Academy (IIFA) Awards.
It was done by displaying a strong
association between Bollywood and
fashion with a fashion show presented by
designer duo Shantanu and Nikhil. Dark and heavy colours like red and navy
blue ruled the occasion with anarkali suits
and dresses high on the waves and drapes,
while the designers added bling to their
collection by pairing golden borders and
bases with the dresses.
While the woman represented Bollywood
vamps with their dark and mysterious
looks, the men also flaunted heavier and
darker emotions by donning fitted
trousers and coats. However, it was Neil Nitin Mukesh, the
show stopper, who took the limelight
with dark brown suit with broad-ended
trousers, while his stylish moustaches
added to his looks.
If fashion was high on quotient,
Bollywood made its presence felt by some
splendid performances by Arjun Kapoor,
Sonu Sood, Arijit Singh and Dia Mirza
among others. The ceremony also witnessed the
distribution of IIFA technical awards,
where director Anurag Basu's Barfi! led the race.
Among the other attractions was actors
Vir Das and Boman Irani tickling the
audience's funny bone as they promoted
their upcoming film Santa Banta.

Emma Watson: I'm an English girl at heart
Actress Emma Watson is so accustomed to the rainy weather in her
native Britain that she finds it difficult to
adjust to the sunny climes of Los Angeles
on a permanent basis.
"I'm an English girl at heart, and it's just
such a different world - it's so different.
Everybody drives everywhere in a car and I
like walking around. And it's really hot all
the time. I like a bit of rain, you know,"
contactmusic.com quoted the 23-year-old as saying.
Post the success of Harry Potter, she became one of the most bankable stars in
Hollywood. As well as continuing her acting career,
Watson is determined to finish her degree
at Brown University in Providence, Rhode
Island, where she is studying English
Literature.
"I feel incredibly fortunate that I get to
juggle so much, because I think there's
been times in my life I wondered whether
I would be able to get my degree as well as
keep everything else going. There are
times where it's really hard and I have to work hard at it, but
hopefully I get to
graduate next year and that will be really
satisfying," she said.

Chiranjeevi: Happy to see son Ram Charan Teja take my place in Telugu cinema
Chiranjeevi is looking forward to the release of his son Ram Charan Teja's
Bollywood debut Zanjeer and the actor- politician believes that the remake will
help his son cement his position as an
actor.
Teja, 28, is stepping into the shoes of
Amitabh Bachchan with the remake of
1973 film which gave the megastar an
image of the 'Angry Young Man'.
The Telugu superstar, who is also the
Union Minster of Tourism, is attending IIFA
awards to promote the incredible India
campaign in Macau.
"I am happy that Ram has taken my place
in the Telugu Film Industry. He is doing
good work there. He is confident that his
debut Hindi film will be a superhit despite
the delay in its release. As a father, I am
hopeful about my son's film because it was a hit of that time and gave Amitabh
Bachchan the tag of 'angry young man',"
said Chiranjeevi.
The remake, also featuring Priyanka
Chopra and Sanjay Dutt, has been in the
news due to copyright and royalty issues
with the original film's writers - Salim
Khan and Javed Akhtar.
Chiranjeevi said he does not believe in
advising his son on his career.
"I never knew that he was a good actor
until I saw him dancing in my daughter's
wedding. My wife told me that my son
watches all my films and learnt acting and
dance by watching my films. We never
imposed our dreams on our children. Ram is a self made actor and I was
surprised to
see his first Tamil film.", said the actor.
Tamil superstar Dhanush has already made
a successful foray in Bollywood with Raanjhanaa and now Teja's first
Hindi film is ready to release. Chiranjeevi believes
the exchange of actors between both the
industries is a good change.
"It's a good change. Our budget is going
up. To earn money and meet the
expectation of people across India it is
necessary that the films should reach to
every audience," he said.

Johnny Lever, as

of Bollywood.
"I am a huge admirer of Johnny Lever and
my character in the film is an ode to him.

Sardar. I have played such a character in Lage Raho Munnabhai. I am
always sensitive to the face I portray onscreen be
it a Sindhi or a Punjabi. We have written
the script without hurting anybody's
feelings," said Boman.
The film also features Vir Das, Neha
Dhupia and Lisa Hayden in pivotal roles. Meanwhile, Sabir said he did
an extensive
research before bringing these characters
onscreen.
"We go through so many SMSs and jokes
on Santa Banta. I did an extensive
research on these two and wrote the
script for a year. Copyright was the main
issue and sorting them out was a
challenge for us," said the director, whose actress-wife Sheeba is
co-producing the
film.
Santa Banta, says his performance in the film is an ode to funnyman
Johnny Lever, as
believes comedians are the unsung heroes
of Bollywood.
"I am a huge admirer of Johnny Lever and
my character in the film is an ode to him.
His presence has always brought life to a
performance or a film. Even when he is
not doing any film he tries to make people
laugh. I feel people like him in the industry are the unsung heroes of
the industry,"
said Boman while unveiling the first look
of the film at IIFA awards here.
The film, directed by Akashdeep Sabir is a
story about two friends and the troubles
they go through because of each other.
Shot in 3D, it will hit theatres by the end
of this year.

Bollywood's BIGGEST FLOPS so far!
We had a look at the Top 10 hits in Hindi cinema so far. Now, it's
time to look at
the half-yearly flops.
Some films bombed expectedly while
there were a few surprises as well.
Media professional and industry observer Abhijit Mhamunkar lists the
top 10 flops in the last six months. The films are listed
according to their release dates.
1) INKAAR:-
Cast: Arjun Rampal, Chitrangda Singh, Deepti Naval
Director: Sudhir Mishra
Release date: January 18
Inkaar was touted as the first film to be
made on sexual harassment at the work
place but it didn't deliver. It targeted the
multiplex audience, which would have
easily connected to the subject.
Director Sudhir Mishra could not get his
views across well, and the solution he
offered was confusing as well. We've seen better films from Sudhir
Mishra; Inkaar was no where near them.
2) DAVID:-
Cast: Vikram, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Vinay Virmani, Tabu, Lara Dutta, Isha
Sharvani Director: Bejoy Nambiar
Release date: February 1
The film, which told three stories, tried to
do too many things at once. The binding
factor was also very weak. David had an interesting cast but badly-
written roles.
Out of the three stories, Neil Nitin
Mukesh's was the best. The film got bad word-of-mouth publicity
and the multiplex audience did not warm
up to it.
3) I ME AUR MAIN:-
Cast: John Abraham, Prachi Desai, Chitrangda Singh
Director: Kapil Sharma
Release date: March 1
Audiences were not ready to accept John
Abraham in a loser kind of a role.
Besides, his solo hero movies don't do
really well, with the exception of Force. I Me Aur Main was a badly written and
directed film. It did not have a plot.
4) THE ATTACKS OF 26/11
Cast: Nana Patekar, Atul Kulkarni, Sanjeev Jaiswal
Director: Ram Gopal Varma
Release date: March 1
Based on the 2008 Mumbai terror attack,
The Attacks of 26/11 was a good subject
and people expected it to do be good.
Ram Gopal Varma has lost his touch. It
was his kind of film but even then, he
couldn't do a good job of it. It was a tacky docu-drama.
5) 3G
Cast: Neil Nitin Mukesh, Sonal Chauhan, Ashish Kapoor, Mrinalini
Sharma Director: Sheershak Anand, Shantanu Ray Chhibber
Release date: March 15
3G had a new concept but the film
was absurd. There were too many unbelievable things
happening on screen and people could not
connect with it.
It was thriller but yet, audiences were
laughing in the theatres. Neil Nitin Mukesh is a good actor but he is
not a saleable star yet.
6) HIMMATWALA
Cast: Ajay Devgan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Paresh Rawal, Mahesh Manjrekar,
Adhyayan Suman, Zarina Wahab Director: Sajid Khan
Release date: March 29
Himmatwala did not work mostly because
of its director Sajid Khan and his style of
publicity. He claimed the film would make Rs 200
crores. It became embarrassing for the
actors involved with the movie too. The film was tacky even though its budget
was huge. It did not have any appeal.
Audiences felt cheated when they went
to the theatre. The original 1983 Himmatwala was not a
particularly well-made film but it was a
hit. Sajid Khan made a worse copy of it. Bad performances and bad action scenes
added to its failure.
7) AURANGZEB
Cast: Arjun Kapoor, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sashaa Agha, Rishi Kapoor,
Jackie Shroff,
Swara Bhaskar, Deepti Naval
Director: Atul Sabharwal
Release date: May 17
Aurangzeb had potential but it was badly
marketed. Since it was a Yash Raj
product, it deserved better publicity than
what it got. Arjun Kapoor is a promising young actor.
Performances by Rishi Kapoor and
Prithviraj were very good. The film's plot and screenplay was weak.
The second half was a complete mess.
Distributors and exhibitors lost a lot of
money on this film.
8) ISHKQ IN PARIS
Cast: Preity Zinta, Rhehan Malliek, Isabelle Adjani
Director: Prem Raj
Release date: May 24
Ishkq in Paris is much-delayed and stale-
looking film. People had no expectations from the film,
especially from the hero. His real name is
Gaurav Chanana, but he changed it to
Rhehan Malliek. He has earlier worked in
duds like Woh Tera Naam Tha, Zinda and
Kajraare. The badly written script was loosely based
on the Hollywood film, Before Sunrise. Preity Zinta's attempt at a comeback
failed because it's time she started acting
her age instead of playing bubbly young
girls.
9) Yamla Pagla Deewana 2
Cast: Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Neha Sharma, Kristina
Akheeva Director: Sangeeth Sivan
Release date: June 7
A badly conceived film, it was made
purely to make money on the goodwill of
the first film, Yamla Pagla Deewana,
which was a hit. It had no plot and was badly directed. Dharmendra,
Sunny and Bobby Deol were
clearly out of form, and didn't look as
involved as they did in the first film.
10) Shortcut Romeo
Cast: Neil Nitin Mukesh, Ameesha Patel, Puja Gupta Director: Susi Ganesh
Release date: June 21
The producer-director of the film Susi
Ganesh had limited funds to release the
film. That's why he couldn't give it a
proper release, and it did not release in
many multiplexes. In fact, the last few
promotions of the film was done on the expense of actress Ameesha
Patel. Even though it was a bad remake of Susi
Ganesh's Tamil film Thiruttu Payale, if it
had released on more screens, it would
have made more money.

Aishwarya to make a comeback in Bollywood
Aishwarya Rai who
was last seen in the
2010 released movie
'Guzaarish', is planning to make a comeback in the film industry.
She is in talks with heavy weight
Bollywood film makers in order to plan a
perfect comeback.
Aishwarya got married to Abhishek Bachchan in 2007 while she continued
to pay attention on her career.
It was only after 2010 that family took
the priority and she decided to take a
break. During the well deserved break
that she took, Abhishek and Aishwarya
were blessed with parenthood. They welcomed baby girl Aaradhya in 2011.
Aishwarya tended to her daughter like
any other non celebrity mother. She also
went off beat and did not follow the
celebrity trend of reducing weight within
a short span after the birth of their babies. She was comfortable with her
huge weight gain during pregnancy. She
also appeared in public views with her
bloated body. "She is a Bollywood actress
and it is her duty to look good and fit," an
onlooker said at the Cannes festival in 2012.
Another added "She needs to learn from
people like Victoria Beckham who are
back to size zero, weeks after their
delivery."
It's been a recent development that
Aishwarya has paid attention to lose the
extra flab. She surprised onlookers and
film industry by her toned and sleek body
which she flaunted at the recently held
2013 Cannes Film Festival. She was looking fresh and glamorous.
It is rumored that film makers Sanjay
Leela Bhansali and Karan Johar have
approached the diva for lead roles in
their movies. She had earlier worked
with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in three films
viz. 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', 'Devdas' and 'Guzaarish'. The former two were
commercially hit movies and though
'Guzaarish' was not a commercial success,
her role was critically acclaimed.
Aishwarya Rai has worked in a number
of movies not only in Hindi but also in
English, Telugu and Tamil. She has
received film awards for her
performances. She has also appeared in a
number of advertisements.
Before joining Bollywood, Aishwarya Rai
was into modeling. She appeared for the
first time in a commercial for Camlin
pencils when she was in 9 standard. She went on to participate in Miss India
contest in 1994 and stood 2 . Then she won Miss World title in the same year.
She debuted in Bollywood with 'Aur
Pyaar Ho Gaya' released in 1997. Since

given his dates for the shoot and hence
Kat has to abide.
A source says, "Kat's been down with
viral fever. Last seen at Arjun Kapoor's

as she was feeling weak. But thanks to
Aamir, the actress is now back at the YRF
studio for the shoot schedule.
Aamir had already allotted his dates."We
heard from those close to her that her
hectic schedule is to blame for her health
woes. "However, Kat didn't want Aamir's
dates to be wasted," adds the source.
