Model-turned actress Poonam Pandey,
who has always been in the news for her
publicity gimmicks, is once again in the
midst of a new controversy.
Poonam Pandey's bold posters from her
debut Bollywood movie Nasha has
angered the people of Mahim area in
Mumbai. A group of protestors tore the
intimate posters and set them on fire on
July 20.
In a similar incident, on July 19, the
residents of Seemapuri in northwest
Delhi too burned the posters of the bold
film and further went to the local police
station to complain about these posters.
According to reports, Poonam Pandey is
shocked to hear about the incident and
has said that she is ready to apologise if
the people felt offended in any way.
The former Kingfisher calender girl, who
aspires to be in the same league as
Bollywood actresses Rekha, Madhuri Dixit
and Kajol, said she has high hopes from
Nasha.
Besides some intimate scenes, the film
has a lot to offer which will be liked by
the audience, she said. According to her,
she chose this film as it has given her an
opportunity to exhibit her acting talent.
She said people want to see her the way
she looks on the screen and one should
not have any problem in it. "I am doing a
social service by wearing less cloths as
people enjoy a lot by watching me in
these dresses."
The film, which marks Poonam's
Bollywood debut, will hit screens on July
26. (With PTI inputs)
