Honey Singh has managed to gather
himself all over again after a
controversy which broke down around
the New Year's Eve, threatened to
spoil the party. After a hiatus of six
months, he would be back in action for 'Bajatey Raho' for which he has given
music, written and sung a number.
"It was period of turmoil when a FIR
was lodged against Honey Singh. It
was alleged that he had written
offensive lyrics for a song titled
'Balatkaari'. There was a widespread
protest against the rapper and post an online campaign, his New Year
concert was also cancelled by a
prominent hotel. Though it had earlier
seemed that all was lost for Honey
Singh, he decided to keep low," an
observer states.
The incident didn't deter either
director Shashant Shah or producer
Krishika Lulla to abort their
association with Honey Singh. They
continued with their original plan and
the song in question, 'Kudi Tu Butter', was retained as is.
"They further went ahead and shot the
song with Tusshar Kapoor and
Vishakha Singh in a prominent
amusement park at Delhi," our source
adds, "They had a beautiful song to
their disposal which was as clean as it gets, unlike the naughty image that
Honey Singh carries. Also, he has sung
this song in entirety instead of just
coming up with a brief rap portion. It
is a highlight of the soundtrack."
To everyone's good fortune, since
Punjab and Haryana High court has
dismissed all the cases filed against
Honey Singh while stating that there
was no proof of him actually singing
the derogatory song in question, the singer too is back in action.
"After giving few chartbusters in a
row last year, like 'Lonely' [Khiladi
786], 'Main Sharaabi' [Cocktail] and
'Rani Tu Main Raja' [Son of Sardaar], he
was pretty much on a roll before this
untoward incident at the fag end of the year curtailed his progress," says a
common associate, "Anyways, he is
back in the thick of things now. 'Kudi
Tu Butter' is just a starting point, there
is a lot more to come in months to
come."
Says Shashant, "Krishika Lulla and
Rajesh Banga got Honey Singh on
board for this song which I instantly
liked on hearing it for the first time
itself."
Krishika has the final word, "Honey
Singh knows the pulse of younger
generation and over time he has
proven that with his songs. We have
worked with him in many movies. He
has now sung this one instead of rapping."
