5 films that can take Sonakshi to the top in Bollywood

Out of the five films Sonakshi
Sinha has done as the lead, only 'Joker'
met with a bad fate at the box-office.
There is no stopping for Sonakshi as she
has mega budget multi-starrer ventures
lined up for release in coming months. Going by the brand value of her co-stars
and production houses involved in these
films, it wouldn't be very unrealistic to
assume that Sonakshi might emerge as
the most sought after Bollywood actress
by the end of 2014. We (#StarREPORT) have compiled a list of five
forthcoming films that can
consolidate Sonakshi Sinha's enviable
position in the Hindi film industry.

Lootera: Vikramaditya Motwane's film is
in the news since the release of its first
look. It appears high on emotional
content and is likely to present Sonakshi
and Ranveer in completely new avatars.
Set in the backdrop of 1950s Bengal, 'Lootera' promises mesmerising visuals
and fascinating background score, so it
seems the film has already won half the
battle. The audience will give the
ultimate verdict but Sonakshi has
impressed in the pre-release session.

Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara:
Sinha plays Jasmine Mirza, an innocent
starlet, trapped in between two intense
lovers in Milan Luthria's project. Her co-
stars are Akshay Kumar, one of the
superstars of contemporary Bollywood, and Imran Khan, who many believe to be
the next big thing of the Hindi film
industry. Milan Luthria's credibility as a
director is on all time high after the
super success of 'Once Upon A Time In
Mumbaai' and 'The Dirty Picture', so the film is unlikely to fizzle
out early at the
ticket window.

Bullet Raja: Slowly and steadily
Tigmanshu Dhulia has built a name for
giving gritty thrillers. Saif Ali Khan will
play the lead role in this UP based mafia
story but he is not the only attraction of
the film as Jimmy Shergill and Vidyut Jammwal are also playing pivotal
characters in 'Bullet Raja'. The shooting
for the film is currently in full swing and
it is expected to go public on September
6, 2013.

Rambo Rajkumar: Who doesn't want to
work with Prabhu Deva after 'Wanted'
and 'Rowdy Rathore'? It's true that the
hero of the film, Shahid Kapoor, is not in
top form these days but he can always
bounce back. Sonakshi Sinha brings another advantage to the film as she is
acceptable with actors of any age group.
Be it Shahid or Salman, she easily gets
into the mould of the heroine needed by
the director.

Pistol: Well, most of Sonakshi's films
have catchy names. This one is directed
by AR Murugadoss of 'Ghajini' fame, in
which she is once again acting opposite
Akshay Kumar, however Akshay will not
be the only person responsible for daredevil action sequences, Vidyut
Jammwal is the second lead in 'Pistol'.

With competent directors and hit co-
stars, Sonakshi looks all set to hit the
jackpot.

The much talked about couple these
days will be finally talk their minds

the family matter.

The Masala Magazine truly promises
you to reveal all the secrets so far.

Sharma skipped friend Arjun Kapoor's
birthday bash and how Farhan Akhtar
managed to be in Milkha Singh's
shoes, this magazine is surely lovable.

Shahrukh Khan recently has got a
shoulder surgery but HATS OFF to his
hard-work that the actor is still busy

Express directed by Rohit Shetty. The
film is full of action, romance, drama and dance beats.

first trailer of Raj Kumar Santoshi's
'Phata Poster Nikla Hero' was out and
now we present you a glimpse of
Salman Khan who was spotted on the
sets of the flick. Surprised?

will also be seen in the flick but in a

Kahani', Salman Khan will mark a
short presence in his next flick as well.

Girish Joshi.

Apart from helming the film as a producer,

it with noted Marathi writer director and
actor Girish Joshi. The film has been
penned by Bhavesh Mandalia, who had

opinion is extremely talented," he said.

Revealed - The mystery around Sonali Bendre in OUATIMD

The promos of ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAI DOBAARA are on in full swing
and one can see that (villain) Akshay Kumar, (hero) Imran Khan and
(heroine) Sonakshi Sinha are all over. However the woman conspicuous
by her absence is Sonali Bendre, who is said to be playing an integral
part in the film.

So where exactly is she?

"Well, she is pretty much in the film and for all the good reasons.
She isn't prominent in the promos so far because the scenes that she
features in the film are quite key to the plot. Anything that is
revealed now may be akin to giving away some highlights of the film,"
says our source.

On probing further, we were informed that she plays Akshay Kumar's
former love interest in the film and her name is Mumtaz.

Comments an insider, "She has a brief, but very charming role in the
film. Milan (Luthria) had various options available but both Balaji
and Milan were keen on Sonali because she looks the part and is also
stunningly young till date. Moreover, in the recent years gone by, she
has gained much popularity on television judging various reality
shows."

Though no one was willing to go on record around her actual part in
the film, we gather that she plays a key role in shaping up Akshay's
character in the film, because of which he ends up taking a path that
makes him an ultimate villain. No wonder, none of that is being
showcased in the promos so far, lest it lets the cat out of the bag.

We would eventually know though once the film releases all over on 15th August.

Farhan Akhtar: Not Important to Hang On to Six-Pack

Actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar, who
built six-pack abs for his latest release
"Bhaag Milkha Bhaag", says he doesn't
feel it is necessary to retain the physique
as every film may not require him to look
like a "body builder".

"I'm not a body builder. This (the body)
was prefect for the role (in 'Bhaag Milkha
Bhaag') and that's why I thought I should
do it. But every role has it's demands and
it is important to understand that you
don't want to look the same in every film," the 39-year-old said here at a press
conference held for the success of the
recently released movie.

"I try to mould as much as I can. It felt
great to be feeling fit and healthy and if
there is something again which demands
me to to do it (get such a physique) again,
I would gladly do it. But I don't feel it's
important to hang on to this, it was for a purpose," he added.

"Bhaag Milkha Bhaag", directed by
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, narrates the
journey of former athlete Milkha Singh.
Farhan plays the 'Flying Sikh' in the
movie, and he has earned rave reviews
for his performance.

Talking about the learnings and
memories he has of working in the
movie, Farhan said: "It has been an
important and enjoyable experience. But
we are still very close to it and only time
will tell what memories it leaves behind, what we learn from the experiences."

He says the "manifestation of the
experience happens after some time",
but for now he is "only happy that people
are liking it".

Salman Khan Injured On Mental Sets In Hyderabad

Actor Salman Khan has been working
round the clock to make sure his
upcoming Sohail Khan venture Mental
makes it to the finishing line on time. The
much-awaited remake is scheduled to
release in the Republic Day weekend of 2014.

Unfortunately on Monday afternoon
Salman Khan injured himself while doing
an action sequence, and sprained his
ankle and hurt his right toe.

Sources from Hyderabad reported that the
shooting had to be canceled. However
Salman confirmed to his fans that he is
fine and is "back in action".

He wrote on Twiiter, "Not injured yaar , jst a hamstring pull
while running . Bak to action ."

Meanwhile there are reports that Salman
is looking at changing the title of his film.
Given the Republic Day release Khan feels
Jai Ho is a more appropriate title.

Mental stars Sana Khan in the female lead
along with Tabu, Aditya Pancholi and
Daisy Shah, and is also expected to
feature an item song by Katrina Kaif.

Trailer out: Shahid Kapoor as super cop in Phata Poster Nikla Hero?

Bollywood's chocolate hero Shahid
Kapoor is back in a comic action Phata
Poster Nikla Hero, directed by Rajkumar
Santoshi.

The film's trailer is out on internet. From
the trailer, the film looks like an out an
out masala entertainer.

In keeping with the title of the film, the
trailer shows Shahid Kapoor making an
entrance by diving through a large poster
hoarding of Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif's
Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.

Produced by Ramesh Taurani along with
Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy
Kapur, the film also stars Barfi! actor,
Ileana D'Cruz. The film will also have an
item song by Nargis Fakhri.

Phata Poster Nikla Hero is expected to
release on 20 September 2013.

Will Deepika beat Katrina and enter 200 crore club with Kareena ?

For Deepika Padukone, it is time to bring in all her energies into the world
of Bollywood. For the actress who started the year with a 100 crores
success in the form of 'Race 2', one can well expect many more
centuries
for her before the close of year, what
with 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani'
coming close to the 190 crore mark
and 'Chennai Express' expected to hit a century in it's opening week itself.

"See honestly, 100 crores and talks around
that isn't something that I think of. In
fact it actually strikes me only when
people SMS me stating that my film
has done so and so business.
Otherwise I am not consciously fretting over such matters," smiles
Deepika.

Still, the fact remains that with 'Race
2' turning out to be her biggest
grosser since her debut flick 'Om
Shanti Om' (that had collected close to
80 crores back then) and 'Yeh Jawaani
Hai Deewani' being next only to Kareena Kapoor's '3 Idiots' (202
crores) and Katrina Kaif's 'Ek Tha Tiger' (199 crores), Deepika is
comfortably sitting in the top zone. Of
course there may be an argument that
the aforementioned films weren't
really heroine driven films while
Deepika was pivotal to 'Yeh Jawaani
Hai Deewani'.

Still, in an industry where it is
numbers that make the loudest noise,
Deepika would indeed be hoping that
her future films break the barrier as
well and step into the 200 crore zone.

With films lined up with Shahrukh Khan (Chennai Express) and
Rajnikanth (Kochadaiyaan), one waits to see if that indeed happens in
months to come.

Says Deepika after a brief pause,
"Yes, there are big numbers coming in
but then as an actor, I have also
gained a lot from 'Love Aaj Kal' and
'Cocktail'. It is great that there my
films are associated with these 100 crore clubs but if you ask me, I don't
want to be associated with any such
tag. If such collections do come in
though, it is fantastic for all of us."

We look forward to that happening
indeed!

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag first weekend collection at Box Office

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's latest
directorial venture Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
(BMB), which features Farhan Akhtar as
flying Sikh, has topped the collection
with its excellent business at the Indian
Box Office in the first weekend. The Bollywood biopic, which has been made
with a whopping budget, has almost
recovered its production cost in just
three days. Its makers are all thrilled
with its performance.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag had decent
beginning with an occupancy of 40% to
45% in the morning and matinee shows
on Friday. The movie witnessed a
massive growth in business in the
evening/night shows. The film maintained the momentum all through
the weekend with a strong word of
mouth translating into superb
collections.

The Farhan Akhtar and Sonam Kapoor
starrer did exceptional business at the
multiplexes in circuits like Delhi, UP,
Punjab, Mumbai and Mysore. It also
registered good amount of footfalls in
circuits dominated by single screens. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag has collected
approximately Rs 32.25 crores nett at the
Indian Box Office in the first weekend.
Its breakup is Rs 1.05 cr on Thu
previews, Rs 8.50 cr on Fri, Rs 10.70 cr on
Sat, Rs 12 cr on Sun.

But Bhaag Milkha Bhaag has failed to
beat the opening weekend record of
Farhan Akhtar's previous outing Zindagi
Na Milegi Dobara, which had raked in Rs
52.50 crore in three days. However,
trade experts opine that it is an excellent collection for Farhan as a
solo hero, and
the movie would take a complete week
to surpass Rs 50 crore mark.

Salman Khan helping Bruna Abdalah learn Hindi

Brazilian Actress Bruna Abdalah- who was last seen in the song 'Subah
Hone Na De' from "Desi Boyz' – has credited Salman Khan for making her
more fluent in Hindi.

According to DNA, the half-Brazilian-half- Arabic actress is being
groomed to do a role in Salman Khan's highly anticipated film
'Mental'.

"Bruna is playing a small role in Mental. She got a call from Sohail
Khan Productions offering her a part in the film being directed by
him," a source said.

If rumours are anything to go by, though the role wasn't too big,
Bruna felt it was a big opportunity to work with Salman and
immediately said yes

Apparently, Salman helped Bruna learn Hindi much faster than her
current language teacher Ujjwala.

Bruna said, "Every time we are ready to shoot, Salman will have an
idea and some scenes will be improvised and everyone's lines will
change. It's good preparation for me as I have to rehearse the lines
every time we improvise. It was hard for me in the beginning but
Salman somehow makes it easier. I'm more confident now from what I was
before. I can dub my own lines. And I am getting to
see actors like Tabu and Salman."

Great going Salman!

peacemaker. He brings calm and a great
sense of confidence into everything I do.
He is an incredible human being. He is
extremely talented," Dia, who has so far worked in over 30 films, said in an
interview.

The Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein fame actress is excited about after-marriage.

"I will marry him next year. I don't know
how things will change...everyone tells me
that everything changes. I guess I will live
and learn. I am exited, I have lots of
wonderful things to look forward to," she
said and added this happiness also helps her stay in shape.

Describing herself as a disciplined person,
Dia said: "When you are happy and have a
balance in your life, it shows. I am very
disciplined. Anything, which I take up in
life, I do it consistently. I exercise, I do
yoga, meditation and practice the art of living. I do functional
training and work
out with weights. I focus on breathing and
flexibility."

What is one thing that you can't stay away
from?

"The only thing which I haven't got
committed to is a diet. I love to eat and
Sahil is also a foodie, so we love to cook,"
she said.

Watch: First trailer of Shahid Kapoor in Phata Poster Nikhla Hero

Here's the first look of Shahid Kapoor's
comedy action film Phata Poster Nikhla
Hero, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi.

The trailer starts off showing a number
of goons getting beat up by a supercop,
who turns out to be none other than
Vishwas Rao, played by Shahid Kapoor.

In keeping with the title of the film, the
trailer shows Vishwas Rao making an
entrance by diving through a large poster
hoarding of Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif's
Ajab Ghazab Prem Kahani.

Shahid Kapoor, who has been missing
from the silver screen for a while now,
looks tough in the khaki uniform.

However, the trailer reveals that Shahid
Kapoor is not actually a cop, but an actor
posing as a cop.

Produced by Ramesh Taurani along with
Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy
Kapur, the film also stars Barfi! actress,
Ileana D'Cruz.

This is Ileana's second Bollywood outing,
who plays Shahid's love interest in the
flick.

Sonam Kapoor: Irresponsible to be diplomatic on issues

When it comes to posting views on various topics on social networking
sites, Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor is
very active and feels that as a public figure
it is her responsibility to comment on
important issues.

Also, she insists that issues command an
honest opinion.

"It is very irresponsible to be diplomatic on
certain things. Just because you are an
actress does not mean you can't have an
opinion," said the 28-year-old who is
active on Twitter.

"You can't be diplomatic on certain things.
I will never talk ill about an actress on a
personal front. But if it comes to important
things, then I should have an opinion,"
added the actress who struck gold with her
performance in Raanjhanaa.

Having an opinion isn't risky either.

"It is not risky if I have an opinion about
something important. If someone is being
sexist, homophobic or if the government is
wrong... I will say something. If I think I
have said something wrong, then I will
apologise for it," she said.

Daughter of Sunita and actor Anil Kapoor,
she feels her forthrightness sets an
example for other girls.

"If I am someone who is a public figure
and cannot have an opinion, the other girls
will get scared. I am not as popular as
other actresses, but I have a little bit of
popularity and I must use that to see how
girls are projected," she said.

In Raanjhanaa too, the actress played a public figure involved in
college politics,
but dismissed any similarity between her
and her character.

"Zoya is different from me. She is involved
in the politics of JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru
University). Sometimes when other public
figures like politicians and spiritual gurus
make some stupid remark, I react to it like
other young people on a social platform. I don't think there is
anything wrong in it as
it encourages other young girls to come
forward," she said.
