too premature," he said.

Is the Salman Khan – Shahrukh Khan war really over?

Just when we thought that all's well
between the warring Khans, Salman's
brother Sohail suggests otherwise.

When Salman Khan greeted Shahrukh
Khan at Sunday night's iftaar party,
everyone believed that the duo had let g
off the past. But, Sohail Khan's this
statement came as a dampener – 'Salma
& Shah Rukh Khan just greeted each other, nothing else'. For everyone who
thought that this was a new beginning i
Salman-SRK dosti chapter Sallu's brother
hints that this was just a casual meeting
Does this mean that the friends turned
foes will never be friends again? Well, going by Sohail's statement
this looks no
less than mission impossible!

Earlier Report: Sunday evening definitely
was a special time with an even more
special moment – it seemed like the Kh
vs Khan war was over after five years!

It was something we have all been
waiting for. Salman Khan and Shahrukh
Khan hugged and made up at an iftaar
party held by politician Baba Siddique la
night. And it was Salman who extended
the olive branch to SRK, we are told. An onlooker confirmed that Sallu walked up
to SRK and patted his shoulder…and the
the duo exchanged a warm hug. Awww
Trust the Khans to throw you a surprise
when you least expect it!

Shahrukh and Salman have avoided each
other studiously, timing their entries an
exits perfectly at social gatherings and
events so as not to make any contact,
even with a look. But on Saturday the
gathering at Mehboob studio was surprised to spot the two mega-stars'
vanity vans parked next to each other.
While the Dabangg Khan was there to
shoot for the next season of Bigg Boss,
King Khan had an ad shoot scheduled
around the same time. Everyone expecte fireworks. But no, there was a bigger
surprise in store for avid onlookers. And
that came the next evening.

Not many knew that Sunday evening
would be the closing of the Khan war
chapter and new beginning to a long los
friendship. And what a moment it was!
SRK gave us a peek-a-boo of what
transpired between him and Sallu when he tweeted, 'Finally u realize turning the
page is the best feeling in the world,
becos there is so much more to the book
than the page u were stuck on'.

So now that the two Khans have moved
on from what happened at Katrina's
birthday party in 2008 and are willing to
be friendly to each other again almost
five years later, is this the next chapter i
their turbulent relationship? Have they moved to a new state of being best
buddies, like they were in the good old
days? Will they come back onscreen
together? Do we see filmmakers already
queuing up to sign them on? We hope
that this truce lasts and the bond gets stronger – with the Khan men, no one ca
ever predict what will happen next. For
now, the least we can expect is to see SR
on Sallu Bigg Boss to do some promoting
of Chennai Express. Don't you think so?

Will Chennai Express Be SRK’s First Massy Overseas Blockbuster?

While the Bollywood rooster is stormed
by a mighty Salman Khan storm these
days, scoring one blockbuster after the
other, it is SRK's Midas touch that have
set him apart from his contempories by
miles, in the international circuit. History has it that India's
biggest Global icon of
the millennium; Shah Rukh Khan has
vanquished all his battles to emerge as
the biggest star overseas. While six films
from this revolutionary czar of romance
stand tall in the list of the top 10 films abroad, collection wise, it
is no mystery
that SRK, the brand rules the Bolly Ville
with immense aplomb and elegance.

SRK's My Name Is Khan holds the second
position in the list of top 10 highest
grossing films overseas, falling short by
just a few figures to ace actor Amir
Khan's 3 Idiots but if you consider the
total tally, its SRK, all the way. With a socially relevant plot in My
Name Is Khan, playing an autistic Rizwan Khan with
panache, our Baadshah brought in the
angst and agony of being a Khan with
powerful pitch-perfection. The movie
went on to grab eyeballs and with a
certain international tinge stringed to the main theme, My Name Is Khan had
SRK's superpowers coalescing into one
periphery.

Not just the second but the
corresponding ranks are even crowned by
other SRK films, with Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Don 2 and Kabhi Alvida Na
Kehna following MNIK up with respective
numbers. While JTHJ had Samar Anand's
romantic genes in full throttle, Don 2 set
the gangster charm ablaze with an
added technological step-up. And much
before Indian films were considered big across the boundaries, Karan Johar's
KANK, which loosely dealt with the
intricacies of marriage and extra marital
affairs, had botched up the roads to the
global market. With a lifetime collections
of $10,770,000 overseas, KANK clearly surpassed all expectations.

And the other two releases that stand as
high at the 8th and 9th spot on the list
are Om Shanti Om and Ra.One. As OSO brought in the entire Karz phenomenon
back with the '80s portrayed beautifully
on screen and the star cast etching up
some marvelous performances, SRK's
magnum opus superhero flick Ra.One
managed to mesmerize the audiences at large with its superb use of technique
and VFX.

These along with the other films
featuring on the list, mostly appeal to the
classes, more than the masses. With an
innate classy charm enchanting viewers
worldwide, these films have carved a
niche for themselves today. The only out and out mass entertainer that jolts up
the no.10 spot on the list is Salman's Dabangg 2. Even Ek Tha Tiger
was one Salman flick that attracted more of the
intelligentsia than the regular madhouse
fans that line up to worship their
favourite idol on screen. Clearly so, the
audience abroad definitely likes films,
the classy way, unlike our mass- entertaining nation! So with Shah Rukh
gearing up for a film that is so non-SRK, a
movie that is not the typical naach gaana
and the romantic dialogues but has a lot
more action and dollops of comedy in it,
stakes on Chennai Express are definitely going higher each day. And with SRK's
growing popularity and craze in the
global territory, his fandom too would be
challenged with the release of this mad
cap action comedy that has already
notched up interest levels to a transcendent floor.

While Salman truly stands out as the
baap of all stars when it comes to the
Indian box office, SRK's magic is an
inevitable key to the indomitable star
power that this Baazigaar enjoys across
the globe. But Will SRK be able to get back to his money spinning ways and
topple his arch rival Salman with Chennai
Express? Or will Salman's films that are
benchmarks of this genre still be the
staple diet that the audiences are fed?
We are definitely waiting for answers now.

None the less, all SRK admirers might just
be waiting their favourite star dethrone
the ruling emperor here, but a nice
collection at the overseas market will
keep SRK's winning streak on a
consecutive roll, for sure! And with a film like Chennai Express,
which comes of as
an unusual from Shah, he would just try
and make his first gamble the best bet of
his life. The Rohit Shetty prowess might
just take it a step forward, ay?

Will Chennai Express add up to the list or
sink without a trace? Will Chennai
Express adhere to the massy cringe and
yet turn tables? Can Chennai Express
exceed SRK's other triumphs at the global
arena? Are some questions floating around today, but yet the million dollar
question is will this Rohit Shetty
directorial be SRK's first mass-oriented
entry into the list of honour? Coming Eid,
we will have all answers.

Shah Rukh Khan refuses to discuss the big Salman Khan hug

Shah Rukh Khan chose not to comment on the much hyped hug with
Salman Khan at a recent 'iftaar' party.

The hug between the two superstars led
everyone to believe that the two warring
Khans have become friends again but SRK
skipped questions on the issue, triggering
mediapersons to pose more queries,
following which he went into the "no comment" mode.

"Whether its my relationship, friendship or
any other personal aspect, I have never
dignified it by talking about it in public. I
like to keep it like this. With due respect,
people have already analysed the whole
situation. So much has been said and written about it. I don't want to give any
explanation or talk about it," Shah Rukh
told reporters.

The two actors turned foes after a spat at
Katrina Kaif's birthday party in 2008. Since
then, both have avoided each other in
public.

When asked to comment on charges being
framed against actor Salman Khan for
culpable homicide not amounting to
murder in the 2002 hit-and-run case, Shah
Rukh said, "I don't know about this so I
can't comment on it."

It was Salman who reportedly patted SRK
on his shoulder and hugged his Karan- Arjun co-star at an 'iftaar' party.

John Abraham fights a war with real bullets

Knowing pretty well that it won't be
possible to fight a war with a truly 'real'
feel in India, John Abraham headed to
Thailand and Malaysia in order to can
some crucial war scenes for his Madras
Cafe.

"Both John and director Shoojit Sircar
were clear from Day One that everything
about Madras Cafe had to be as authentic
as it can be while maintaining cinematic
appeal. Though there have been quite a
few war movies made in India before, John wanted to take the genre to the
next level. All this while there have been
several claims being made around the
film reaching out for Hollywood
standards. One step in this direction was
to shoot with real bullets so as to make the action sequences truly
real," informs a
source.

It was a given that this wouldn't have
been possible in India. Hence it was
pronto decided that Thailand and
Malaysia would be the chosen countries
for canning this 'filmy war'.

"Of course we had to take care that no
untowardly incident happened," the
source adds, "Needless to say, when you
are shooting a war scene at such a large
scale, there are many people involved.
More than 1000 rounds were required to be fired and hence the entire area had to
be cordoned off lest anyone comes in the
firing range. Every bullet was accounted
for and all safety precautions were taken
to make sure that no one was hurt."

Considering the fact that John Abraham
himself had a close shave with death a
few months back during the shooting of
Shootout At Wadala when a blank bullet
fired by Anil Kapoor from a close range
barely missed him, he too was cautious and extra precautions were taken.

Confirms John, "Yes, we did use real
bullets for these war scenes. See, when
you shoot with a blank bullet then you can
make out that it is blank. It may not be as
apparent to a regular viewer but then we
wanted authenticity in every frame. We got the necessary permissions in Thailand
and Malaysia to shoot there. As a matter
of fact, in number of scenes we even have
ex-soldiers fighting it out. We came as
close to reality as a war can be."

Ranbir Kapoor dons father`s avatar

After rendering his father`s iconic song,
Bachna Ae Haseeno successfully, Ranbir
Kapoor will follow his dad once again. The
actor will be seen in a similar metallic
outfit which Rishi Kapoor had worn in his
famous song, Om Shanti Om from Karz. Sources say that this wasnt planned and it
just happened that the outfits have
uncanny resemblance. The actor will be
seen in his upcoming film, Besharam with
this attire. The film is slated to release on
2nd October 2013.

Lady Gaga is back with nude photoshot

Lady Gaga is back in the spotlight with
her nude photoshoot for a magazine
cover.

The 27-year-old singer has shot a steamy
photoshoot for V Magazine where she is
seen perched on a high stool with her hands covering her modesty. The star
looks thin as her overflowing mane takes
centrestage in the photographes.

Gaga, who is often spotted in bizarre
outfits, was keeping a low profile to
recover from a hip-surgery that forced
her to cancel many performances.

But the singer decided to announce her
return to regular life in style by shooting the raunchy cover.

Despite her injury, it has emerged that
Gaga earned an estimated USD 80 million
in the past year to be named the highest
earning celebrity under the age of 30 by
Forbes magazine.

2002 hit and run case: Salman Khan pleads not guilty

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan will be
tried for culpable homicide not
amounting to murder in connection with
the 2002 hit and run case. In this the
actor could face a maximum sentence of
10 years in jail.

Salman Khan has pleaded "not guilty" to
the charge. He has also been exempted
from personal appearance in trial.

Salman Khan's sisters Alvira and Arpita
were also there in the court with their
brother.

Sessions judge U B Hejib had on June 24
upheld a metropolitan court's order that
the offence of culpable homicide not
amounting to murder was made out
against the 47-year-old Bollywood
superstar, dismissed his appeal against the verdict, and asked him to appear
before the court today.

Salman Khan had earlier been tried by a
metropolitan magistrate for a lesser
offence of causing death by negligence
(Section 304 A of IPC), which provides for
a maximum sentence of two years.

The trial in the sessions court would start
afresh as the Bandra metropolitan court
had halted the proceedings midway after
examining 17 witnesses, ruling that the
more serious charge of culpable
homicide was made out against the actor.

An offence under the charge of culpable
homicide is triable by a sessions court.

A man was killed and four others were
injured when a Land Cruiser allegedly
driven by an inebriated Salman had
ploughed through a group of people
sleeping on the pavement outside a
bakery in suburban Bandra in the wee hours of September 28, 2002 (With PTI
