Akshay shoots 'Its Entertainment' in Bangkok, would return to promote OUATIMD

Akshay Kumar continues to be on a roll. After stepping out of Mumbai for
a holiday to the USA with his family,
he has resumed work. Reason being
that producer Ramesh Taurani has
planned a quick-fire mini schedule for
his comic affair 'Its Entertainment'. Currently in Bangkok, he is with his
debutant director duo of Sajid-Farhad
who have kick-started the film with
this overseas shoot.

"Akshay is doing his best to balance
time between his vacation and
shooting commitments," says a
source, "He did enjoy some good time
with his family while in USA where
he was for a back-pack trip. He did take out Aarav and bonded well.
However he isn't continuing to rest or
utilise this entire monsoon season for
the sole purpose of leisure. Even as
rains lash the city of Mumbai, he is
using this time to film 'Its Entertainment'."

In any case Bangkok is Akshay's home
away from home since he has spent a
good number his younger days there.
This has allowed this fortnight to turn
out to be a good balance of leisure
and business trip.

"Still, even though Akshay would be
back in Mumbai after this schedule, he
may not really have much of the 'me
time' for himself," a close associate
adds, "Reason being that he would
soon be resuming work on half a dozen other films of his that are in
different stages of production. There
is 'Thuppakki' remake, 'Gabbar' and
'Gutka' to be made in quick succession
along with 'Its Entertainment'. Then there is 'Boss' which would has to
reach the finishing line as well. Not to
mention the promotion of 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara!' that
would kick-start the moment he lands
in Mumbai."

6 pack abs for Ayushmann Khurrana for YRF Film

Ayushmann Khurana, who recently
won the best debut award for his film
"Vicky Donor"at International Indian
Film Academy Awards (IIFA) is
currently shooting for the new YRF
project.

Below Ayushman autographs a
picture of himself on the latest issue
of a men''s magazine.

Yes..!!
He has developed a six-pack for his
new film under the Yash Raj Films
(YRF) banner in which he plays a
squash player.

The 28-year-old Actor conformed this
buzz at the launch of the magazine
cover.

"This (the abs) is of course, for my
next film Yash Raj Films project
with Sonam Kapoor. I have some
body shots in the film. I play a
squash player, so that was the
need of the character,"

The actor is sure to make women go
weak in the knees as he flaunts his
perfect abs for the cover. He feels that
a person should have a fit body to feel
confident irrespective of his
profession and place. He said, "I was very skinny as a kid and I
was not as confident as I am right
now. I was just another kid in the
class and it was an all boys school,
so I never used to crave for
attention."

"…It's not just about being in the
industry. Anybody, be it a
journalist or a cameraperson, if
that person is fit, naturally that
person will be confident," he added.

Ayushmann, all suited up, is seen
really excited for his new project and
this is main reason why he worked on
this abs so hard.

"I think nobody builds or tries to
build abs without any reason. It's
quite difficult, it's not easy. It is
for a particular character," he said.

Right now he busy with his present
project so the shoot of his upcoming
"Hamara Bajaj" is delayed and it is
expected to start only next year.

Katrina-Sushant To Share Screen Space?

Sushant Singh Rajput delivered the most
impressive performance in Abhishek
Kapoor's recent film Kai Po Che! which was the cue for the director to rope in
the actor in his upcoming film again.
After translating Chetan Bhagat's
bestselling novel 3 Mistakes of My Life
into a film, Kapoor is now venturing into
remaking Charles Dicken's classic English novel Great Expectations into a film
tentatively titled Fitoor.

A drama love story that the film will be,
will star Sushant Singh Rajput and
Katrina Kaif in its lead roles, as reported
by a leading magazine. Fitoor will go on
floors this November after Sushant
wraps up P.K and Katrina finishes her work on Dhoom 3.

The trailer of the film will be releasing

In Madras Cafe, John plays an army
officer, who later joins the intelligence

proud of our films, I enjoy films like
Golmaal and Housefull because they make you laugh, it's fun. But when we

Bollywood film. It becomes a caricature.
I have tried to break that caricature with
Madras Cafe and I create a film that I
take to the west and say 'Listen, this film is as better as your film, if not
better'," John said in an interview
earlier.

Madras Cafe, a second venture of John
Abraham's Production hounse, has been
directed Shoojit Sircar. The film that was

Bollywood box-office report of the week

This Friday will see multiple releases in
the form of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's
BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG, the Amit Vats
directed BOYSS TOH BOYSS HAIN, Zakir
Hussain's SIXTEEN and last but not the least TARA-THE JOURNEY OF LOVE AND
PASSION, which has impressed at many
festivals already. From the list it is likely
to be the Farhan-Sonam starrer, BHAAG
MILKHA BHAAG, which will be the front
runner while BTBH and TARA may also get selective patronage. Needless to add
that the multiple releases will cut into
each other's business.

Last Friday's two new releases,
Vikramaditya Motwane's Ranveer,
Sonakshi and Adil starrer LOOTERA and
the K.S. Ravikumar's POLICEGIRI, behaved
as per expectations While the multiplex
audience patronized LOOTERA, the single screens went for Sanjay Dutt's
POLICEGIRI. But as the weekend
progressed LOOTERA went from strength-
to-strength, while POLICEGIRI remained
more or less on the same level and made
little or no headway. LOOTERA has also done quite decently in the overseas
(good in US) grossing and#163;70,000

the opening weekend (5-7 July).

and#163;144,000 from UK and $203,000
from the US till the second weekend (5-7
July).

Meanwhile the Sonam, Dhanush and

Lootera first weekend collection at overseas Box Office

Hindi film Lootera, which has garnered
positive reviews from film critics, has
done an average performance in key
international markets in the first
weekend. The Ranveer Singh and
Sonakshi Sinha starrer has topped the business chart at the overseas Box
Office, but its per screen average is quite
lower than that of Tamil film Singam 2
and Punjabi film Jatt and Juliet 2 in USA,
UK and Australia.

Lootera has collected Rs 62.62 lakhs
(£69,153) from 49 screens at the UK Box
Office in the first weekend. The movie
has topped the business chart, while
Singam 2 landed in second place with its
collection reaching Rs 59.60 lakhs (£65,806) from 14 screens in its opening
weekend. Whereas Jatt and Juliet, has
graced third spot with its business
reaching £33,539 from 12 screens in
second weekend, and with this its 10-
day total stands at Rs 1.40 crores (£1,54,355).

In its opening weekend, Lootera has
collected Rs 2.28 crores ($3,75,442) from
100 screens at the USA Box Office and
topped the business chart in America.
But its per screen average is not even
50% of what Singam 2 has collected. The Tamil movie has collected Rs 1.47 crores
($2,41,926) from 46 screens in the first
weekend.

Lootera has collected Rs 1.52 crores (AED
9,20,000) at the UAE Box Office in the
first weekend. However, it has graced
the second spot, while Jatt and Juliet 2
topped the business chart in Australia. In
the first weekend, Ranveer-Sonakshi's film has collected Rs 21.57 lakhs (A
$39,078) from 11 screens at the Australia
Box Office, while the Punjabi movie
raked in A$71,955 from 21 screens in the
second weekend, taking its 10-day total
to Rs 2.52 crores (A$4,56,473).

Huma Qureshi prefers to take the curvy route

Huma Qureshi is another actress after
Vidya Balan and Sonakshi Sinha to not
fall for the size zero fad. While the
actress has always been praised for her
performances in films like 'Gangs of
Wasseypur' and 'Ek Thi Daayan', she has also been criticised for her weight
issues.

"In 'Gangs of Wasseypur' I was the
pretty girl, it was a glamorous role. In 'Ek
Thi Daayan' I was the heroine. I have
always been the pretty girl. I think there
are people who have a craze about size
zero but today we do have heroines who are curvier," Huma said in an interview.
"Either you think of it (weight) as a
problem or as an added advantage. I
would like to be known for my
personality rather than size zero, I am an
actress. I don't want to be a hanger," she said.

Huma feels there are so many actresses
today who are not size zero but still
have a huge fan following. However, if
in the near future a role demands for her
to transform herself, she is game for it.

The 26-year-old is looking forward to the
release of Nikhil Advani's 'D Day'.In the
film, Huma had to perform some heavy
duty stunts and it was not only
challenging but difficult as well for her to
pull it off. "More than shooting difficult action sequences, trying to
look like a
RAW agent, keeping the character in
mind, not forgetting the lines etc... There
is so much synchronisation that happens
when you do action scenes," she
said."Besides action, there are cars blowing up, gunshots, blast happening in
the background and you don't want to
mess it up with (bad) performance... So
all that is scary," she added.

On Salman Khan And The Internet

Actor Salman Khan is learning, not the
easy way, about how the Internet
works. Two instances in the last few
days have shone the spotlight on the
actor's (or his legal team's) recent
moves on the Internet, involving a hit-and-run case which is currently
sub-judice:

Hemant Patel, an activist, a complaint
seeking action against Khan for
launching a website with information
on his hit-and-run court, which he
says is contempt of court. A few days
ago, Khan had launched Salman KhanFiles.com, where, at this point in
time, there are three updates related
to the hit-and-run Court case he is
currently the prime accused in. The
website claims that it is addressing
inaccurate and misleading media
reports, and his lawyers will be publishing factual information on the
website, without comments or the
intention to influence anyone.

I'm no lawyer, but I don't see what is
wrong with doing this: given that
media reports on celebrities are
sensationalized, the website appears
(at this point in time, if it hasn't been
changed) to only share updates on court orders. The information on the
website appears to be fact-driven,
and quite obviously updated by
lawyers.

Strategically, it appears to do two
things – control the conversation and
reduce the distortion by being a
primary source of information, and
make that information available to
everyone. Typically, facts get distorted or lost in the Chinese-
whispers that is modern day
reporting and re-reporting (not based
on primary information; similar to
blogging and re-blogging), and Khan
is attempting to reduce the number of layers (and hence distortion)
between himself and the reader. The
way TV in particular works is that it
often to blows things out of
proportion while trying to garner
eyeballs and TRPs.

The blog allows Khan to provide the
media and people with an alternative
(albeit quite a drab one). This is also
what Twitter also does, and why we
find many celebrities and politicians
on it – it gives control to the celebrity (or the brand), instead of them
depending on the media, which can
be selective.

The Internet is People Media, and if
you don't like what the media is
saying, start a blog or start tweeting.

I don't know whether it is contempt
of court, but it's not like our judicial
system has juries that might get
influenced by what they read online.
If the newspapers can publish about
the case (and there is no reason why they shouldn't be allowed to), I don't
see why Salman Khan's legal team
should not be allowed to publish
these facts online.

Where Khan's got it wrong was in
getting a blog post taken down. BollywoodJournalist.com had published
a post about a constable
who was a witness in this particular
case, and how, allegedly, he was
under pressure to change his
statement against Khan, was driven
to drink, his family disowned him, and how he eventually died. This post
and another one were taken down
after Khan, as per the blogger,
contacted him. There's no statement on whether
there was a legal threat from the
blogger against Khan, but
Soumyadipta Banerjee, who had
posted that report, mentioned that
the last two days were excruciating for him, and he has also issued a
public apology.

But then the Internet took over:
Google cache's of the now removed blog post have been circulated all
over social networks, copies of it
have been posted on forums. If a few
hundred people had read this post
before it was taken down, now it
would be in the hundreds of
thousands. This is the Streisand effect. Demands for "a public
apology" are a part of standard legal
notices, and lawyers who don't know
how the Streisand effect works need
to take their head out of the sand. This is the other side of People Media
– if people see that you're being a
bully (or being evil), especially if
you're a celebrity, they will form a
mob and go on a rampage against
you. There is no way out after a mob takes over, and even if you take a
few people down, legally, that will
only add fuel to the fire. You can take
on a few, thinking you might make
an example of them, but you'll never
be able to deal with millions. If you shut down one platform, another will
arise. To be fair, though, there is no
predicting how this will work. Sometimes, it's better to stay silent.

Salman Khan, Ram Charan Teja bond on Yevadu set

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who is
shooting for Mental here, paid a visit on
the sets of upcoming Telugu action-
drama Yevadu. He bonded with the film's
lead actor Ram Charan Teja and even
appreciated some of his dance moves.

Salman visited the sets on Tuesday (July
9, 2013).

"Salman and Charan spent quality time on
the sets of Yevadu. The team was giving
final touches to a song featuring Ram.
When Salman saw Charan dancing, he
was awestruck. He personally
appreciated him for his dance moves," said a source.

It was not long ago that Ram Charan took
home-cooked food for Salman.

"Ram visited the sets of Mental a few
days back with home-cooked food for
Salman. When Ram was shooting for
Zanjeer in Mumbai, Salman did the same,"
the source added.

Salman has been shooting in the city for
Mental, which is a Hindi remake of Telugu
film Stalin featuring Ram Charan's
superstar father Chiranjeevi.

Meanwhile, the makers of Ram Charan's
Yevadu are planning to release the film
on July 31, the same day that the
blockbuster Magadheera hit the screens
four years back and struck gold at the box
office.

The film was earlier scheduled to release
on July 25, but has been postponed due to
"technical" reasons.

Yevadu also features Shruti Haasan and
Amy Jackson. It is being directed by
Vamsi Paidipally.

Rumoured lovers Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif chill out in Dubai

Rumoured lovers Ranbir Kapoor and
Katrina Kaif have been playing hide 'n'
seek with media back home in Mumbai
but the duo couldn't escape the eyes of
Bollywood fans abroad.

Onlookers at a Daubai mall spotted
Ranbir and Katrina chilling out at a cafe.

Since, Katrina's Bang Bang co-star Hrithik
Roshan has undergone brain surgery and
the film's shooting has been called off,
the two sneaked out to Dubai.

There were reports that the couple was
to fly to Barcelona to bring in Katrina's 29h birthday on July 16 but because of
their professional commitments they had
to cancel the trip.

Ranbir and Katrina have never spoken
about their rumoured affair in public. The
two came close while working on their
first film together Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab
Kahani.

Keep watching this space for more
updates.

Katrina Kaif will not romance Salman Khan in Suraj Barjatya's next!

Several rumours were doing the rounds
that after delivering a superhit film like
Ek Tha Tiger, Salman Khan and Katrina
Kaif are now all set to work together
again in Suraj Barjatya's next. But,
according to the latest reports, instead of Katrina, the makers of the
movie might
now take a new girl opposite Salman.

Talking about Suraj Barjatya's movie, a
source told a leading daily, "We have not
finalised any leading lady yet opposite
Salman Khan. We might go with known
faces (established actress) or a fresh
face, but nothing is confirmed yet. Only Salman is on board."

Earlier it was said that Anushka Sharma
has been finalised for Salman Khan's
good friend Suraj Barjatya's upcoming
film. Later, it was said that Parineeti
Chopra or Illeana D'Cruz will be casted
opposite Salman.

Salman Khan and Suraj Barjatya are
working together again after a gap of
almost 14 years. The last film they did
together was 1999 family drama Hum
Saath Saath Hain.

Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma bury the hatchet!

There was no bad blood between them, but they apparently used to share
cold vibes, thanks to their connection with certain Mr. Singh.
Actresses Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma always maintained a
distance from each other, but that's passé now.

Anushka Sharma, who was reportedly dating Ranveer Singh till last
year, is no more on talking terms with him. On the contrary, everyone
knows that Deepika Padukone shares a great rapport with Ranveer ever
since they were signed to play lovers in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's yet-
to-release magnum opus Ram Leela. Pitted as "rivals" because of
Ranveer, the two young actresses preferred to keep distance, be it at
events or parties, claim sources.

However, things changed between them at the recently held IIFA Awards
in Macau. The two lanky beauties, claiming to be singles, not only
buried the hatchet, but also bonded well. Did the absence of Ranveer
Singh at Macau let their awkwardness go out of the window?

Interestingly, Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone even rocked the
dance floor at an after-party hosted by Shahrukh Khan in Macau. It's
said that the girls patched up last month after Anushka praised
Deepika's performance in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, but it was only the
IIFA after-party that saw the two sirens let their hair down and enjoy
each other's company.

Moreover, don't you know what happens
when two ladies get to know each other better? Yes, gossiping and
giggling followed after the two actresses greeted each other with a
warm hug at the after- party. And when they started dancing, they
cared for none, and enjoyed it to the hilt.

3 Movies originally designed for Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan

Apart from being two of the most popular
actors of this generation, Salman Khan
and Shahrukh Khan shared excellent
chemistry in 1995 blockbuster 'Karan
Arjun'. Both played the roles of brothers
perfectly. After that they have worked together in 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' and
'Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam' also. SRK did
guest appearance in Salman's 'Har Dil Jo
Pyaar Karega' while Salman did a cameo
in SRK's 'Om Shanti Om'.

<img src="http://starreport.mywapblog.com/files/kal-ho-na-ho.jpg" />

Although the two don't see eye to eye
today because of personal differences,
there are three big movies mentioned
below, in which Salman-SRK combo was
the initial choice of the makers.

<img src="http://starreport.mywapblog.com/files/kal-ho-na-ho.jpg" />

1.) Kal Ho Naa Ho: Karan Johar's debut 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' had a
special role for
Salman Khan. In his production 'Kal Ho
Naa Ho', Karan wanted Salman to play the
role of Rohit. Salman turned down the
role and it was eventually played by Saif
Ali Khan.

<img src="http://starreport.mywapblog.com/files/mujhseshaadikarogi.jpg" />

2.) Mujhse Shaadi Karogi: Although producer Sajid Nadiadwala is Salman's
favorite, he has worked with SRK in
'Deewana'. He approached Shahrukh
Khan to play the role of Sunny in David
Dhawan's 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi'. SRK
was least interested and the funny role went in the kitty of Akshay Kumar.

<img src="http://starreport.mywapblog.com/files/jaanemann.jpg" />

3.) Jaan-E-Mann: Sajid Nadiadwala was very keen to have SRK play the role of
nerd in Shirish Kunder's debut directorial
venture 'Jaan-E-Mann'. SRK rejected it yet
again and Salman-Akki combo did their
second movie together.

Hrithik: I'm fantastic. Thanks for your love!

Hrithik Roshan, who had undergone
a successful brain surgery on July 7, posted a message on his offical Facebook
page, updating his fans about his health
and also thanking them for their love.
"What's up!! Hope everyone's making d
best of their day! I'm horizontal but
controlling and creating my environment to the best of my ability....
That's all we
ever need to do! Hope your doing d
same! I'm fantastic by the way! Thanks
to all your love and wishes! Leaving u
with this thought - Everything can be
taken away from you but one thing. The freedom of knowing one can choose their
attitude in any given
environment...Invent your OWN
way! Love...supersonic style," he
updated.
Quite a few of his friends, including Shah Rukh Khan, visited him at
the hospital.

Dhanush: Not Overwhelmed By Rajinikanth

One look at him and you'd pass him off as
an average teenager. That frail figure,
baby face and side-parting hairstyle
could fool almost anyone. But don't be
mistaken. Look again. You're looking at
South superstar Dhanush.

At the Filmfare photoshoot, he sits cross-
legged in his vanity van and speaks
almost in hushed tones. "I'm bad at
posing for still shoots," he confesses. But
when you see him perform in films, he
comes across as a method actor, one who completely blends into the character he
plays. We tell him that and he vigorously
nods his head in agreement. "I love
acting," he smiles.

His Hindi film debut Raanjhanaa, directed
by Aanand L Rai (director of Tanu Weds
Manu) got him an overwhelming
response. Although, his South twang
faced a little flak. And those who've seen
his Tamil film 3 (directed by his wife and daughter of Rajinikanth, Aishwarya)
opposite Shruti Haasan, drew
comparisons with his character in
Raanjhanaa. But despite the conjecture,
Dhanush has been welcomed by this
industry with open arms.

Shah Rukh Khan: Farhan's performance in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag "inspiring"

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has praised the forthcoming film Bhaag Milkha
Bhaag, based on legendary Indian athlete Milkha Singh's life, for
being a "lovely
experience". He also said his friend Farhan
Akhtar's performance as the Flying Sikh is
inspiring.

The film, releasing on Friday, is directed by
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.

"The only race you can't win is the race
against your past. What a lovely
experience is Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Thanks Rakyesh and you inspire me, my Flying
Farhan," Shah Rukh posted on Twitter.

SRK had co-produced Don 2 with Farhan, a successful actor-filmmaker.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag also stars Sonam Kapoor, who is still riding high on the
success of her last release Raanjhanaa.

Govinda woos audience with dance moves on Indian Idol Junior

Known for his unique dancing style, Bollywood's comic star Govinda will
flaunt his moves in a forthcoming episode
of singing reality show Indian Idol Junior.

For the episode, to go on air on Saturday,
the top 10 finalists of the show will croon
songs from the disco era and, to match the
fervour, Govinda will be seen wooing the

The 49-year-old actor was delighted to
witness the euphoria created by the little
talents and thoroughly enjoyed his
experience, said a source.

The singing reality show, which provides a
platform to children between the age
group of 5 to 15, started on June 1 on Sony
Entertainment Television. It is judged by
singer Shreya Ghoshal, composer-singer
Shekhar Ravjiani and Vishal Dadlani.

The top 10 singers on the show are Anmol
Jaswal, Nirvesh Sudhanshubhai Dave,
Debanjana Karmakar, Sonakshi Kar, Akash
Sharma, Anjana Padmanabhan, Priyam
Borpatra Gohain, Sankalp Yaduwanshi,
Eman Chaudhary and Sugandha Amol Date.

Southern remake of Kahaani set for Dussehra release

Bilingual movie Anaamika, the southern remake of Bollywood film
Kahaani, will hit the big screens around the festival of Dussehra in
October. Its lead
actress Nayantara says she is thrilled
about the movie.

The Tamil and Telugu remake is directed
by Sekhar Kammula, who plans to
complete the film by mid-July.

For Nayantara, "it's an honour to have
worked with a critically acclaimed and
award winning director like Sekhar". "I'm thrilled to be a part of this project
which gave me an opportunity to play a
strong female character. With a
completely new look in Anaamika, I hope that the audiences would appreciate the
film and my role," Nayantara said in a
statement.

In the Hindi film Kahaani, directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the National award-winning
actress Vidya Balan played the powerful
role of Vidya Bagchi.

The bilingual remake is currently being
filmed with the cast at a fast pace across
Hyderabad at real locations like Murgi
Market, Choodi Bazaar, Sultan Bazaar,
Charminar and Begum Bazaar.

The director says "this adaptation in
design and appearance of the characters is
completely different" from Kahaani.

"I hope it excites my audience. It's always
challenging to make interesting movies
and Anaamika is a challenge I have thoroughly enjoyed," added Sekhar.

Anaamika marks the debut of Viacom 18 Motion Pictures in the Telugu and Tamil
market and is being co-produced by
Endemol India, Logline Productions Pvt.
Ltd and Select Media Holdings.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag will go down in history, says Sonam Kapoor

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is being praised by industry members even before
its release, and actress Sonam Kapoor,
who says she has a "cameo" in the movie,
is confident it will go down in history.

The Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra-movie is
based on the life of athlete Mikha Singh.

"I did the film only for Rakeysh Omprakash
Mehra. It's a special appearance, but I hate
the word special appearance. It's a cameo.
I did this film because I knew for sure this
film will go down in history," said Sonam.

The actress, who won accolades for his
performance in her last release Raanjhanaa, says she is choosy about
her film projects.

"I'm choosy about my films. I do one film
in one to one-and-a-half years. My films
take too long - like Mausam and Sawaariya ," she added.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag stars Farhan Akhtar in the lead, and it releases on Friday.

Shah Rukh Khan brings baby AbRam home, says no sex test was done

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan on Tuesday (July 9, 2013) confirmed
for the first time the premature birth of
his and his wife Gauri Khan's surrogate
baby boy, who has been named AbRam.

Shah Rukh, 47, made the news official
about his surrogate baby via a statement.

"Amidst all the noise that has been going
around, the sweetest is the one made by
our newborn baby, AbRam. He was born
prematurely by several months, but has
finally come home," said Shah Rukh.

"Gauri and our whole family have been
dealing with his health issues for a long
time now," he added.

Explaining his longstanding silence on the
matter, he said: "As a family, our silence
on this subject has been because of the
personal nature of emotional strife that
we have been going through due to his
health."

The superstar, also called the baadshah of Bollywood, also put the
record straight
that "there was no sex determination for
our child".

"The baby was born much before the
speculations of 'sex determination' and
other 'issues' pertaining to the same were
being raised in the media by some
organisations. Suffice to say his coming
home puts to rest completely false and at times insensitive claims of sex
determination and alleged illegalities," he
added.

On his part, the actor-producer has also
apologised to "all those other doctors and
hospitals who had to face unwanted
scrutiny and questioning by some parties",
and he has thanked the doctor concerned,
Jatin Shah, for his expertise and contribution to make the surrogacy
successful.

"We also wish to thank all the other
doctors, nurses and medical staff who
have made his life possible," added Shah
Rukh, who also said the entire surrogacy
process is bound by "strict confidentiality".

He has appealed to all "to allow us to
cherish this private moment as a family".

Shah Rukh, who began his tryst with
showbiz through the small screen in 1988,
married Gauri in 1991. They have two
children together - son Aryan,16, and
daughter Suhana, 13.

Southern producer Ravi Shankar Prasad missing

Southern producer Ravi Shankar Prasad has been missing since
July 8. He was last seen here while leaving
for a morning jog, said officials of hotel
Anand Regency.

Ravi Shankar is the managing director of
Gemini Film Circuit, a leading production
and distribution company in the south. He
is also the chairman of Regency Group of
chain hotels, where he was staying since
the last few days.

"He had come to visit the hotel and was
staying in his usual suite. On Monday (July
8) early morning, he left for jogging and
never returned. Since he didn't return after
several hours, we reached him on his
mobile phone, but it was switched off," said an official of the hotel.

"We waited till evening and contacted his
family in Chennai and found out that he
didn't get in touch with them either. We
lodged a police complaint yesterday
(Monday) night. Police have taken over the
case and are investigating," the hotel official added.

Yanam police have registered a missing
persons case, according to hotel officials. Grandson of renowned
southern producer
LV Prasad, Ravi Shankar has produced
southern films such as Shankar Dada MBBS, Mayakkam Enna and Nanban.

Lootera: 1st Tuesday Box Office Collections

Audiences seem a little less mesmerized
by Lootera as compared to the critics. With the film's drop continuing since its
1st Monday, the film on its 1st Tuesday
collected an income of approx 2 crores at the Domestic Box Office.
Lootera's total
domestic collections now stands at a
cumulative of 23.25 crores.

The film can however be expected to
pick up over the next weekend. Its
target audience is mainly the urban
intelligentsia, and hence the film might
fare better on weekends. Currently on
weekdays, with single audiences frequenting the film more than the
multiplex audiences, it is going through
the drop as expected by its producers.

Stars are necessary to sell films in a better way, says Lootera director

Director Vikramaditya Motwane, whose
latest directorial venture Lootera has
actors Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha
in the lead roles, feels that stars are the
ones who pull the audience to cinema
houses.

Motwane's debut film Udaan (2010) with
popular television actor Ronit Roy was
not immediately successful at the box
office upon its release. However, it was
eventually regarded as a cult classic. The
film went on to bag awards in various categories at several award functions.

His next venture Lootera, which released
last week, is a period romance set in the
1950s.

"You want your film to be seen by the
largest audience and stars help in
facilitating that. Star-power does work...
they drive the business. It is a fact. One
needs stars to sell their film in a better
way," Motwane told PTI in an interview.

"But one must not forget that they are
actors before they became stars. Look at
the young actors like Ranbir Kapoor,
Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha, Priyanka
Chopra, etc. They are doing tremendous
work," he added.

In Lootera, Sonakshi plays the role of a
zamindar's feisty and only daughter,
who finds herself irrevocably drawn
towards Ranveer, a visiting
archaeologist. The performances of both
the actors have received appreciation.

"It was not difficult to extract a good
performance from them. They were
willing to learn things and give their
best. Ranveer is someone who believes
in preparation while Sonakshi is
spontaneous," Motwane said.

It’s Katrina Kaif for Sushant Singh Rajput

Sushant Singh Rajput's journey from being a TV actor to a silverscreen
star has been quite an enriching and exciting one. The very
good-looking actor must be on cloud nine, for he has hit a jackpot
with 'Kai Po Che!' this year.

After an impressive debut in Abhishek Kapoor's adaptation of Chetan
Bhagat's 'The 3 Mistakes of My Life', Rajput is all set to team up
with the filmmaker once again. And this time for a screen adaptation
of Charles Dickens' 'Great Expectations'.

Sushant has already grabbed plump projects which include 'Peekay' with
Aamir Khan & Anushka Sharma and 'Shuddh Desi Romance` opposite
Parineeti Chopra. And with Kapoor's adaptation of the 'Great
Expectations' he will reportedly get a chance to romance Katrina Kaif.

The 'Kai Po Che!' star began his acting career with Zee TV's 'Pavitra
Rishta'. He met his reel life lady love Anikta Lokhande on the sets of
the show. Lokhande continues to play the leading lady on the show and
has stood by her man even as he has taken a huge leap into the world
of cinema.

The couple looked dapper at the recently concluded IIFA 2013 awards
ceremony held at Macau.

Here's wishing Sushant all the very best.

London Dreams was written for Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan

Veteran filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi
would have managed a casting coup
of sorts when he got two of the
biggest superstars Aamir Khan and
Shahrukh Khan together to hear the
script of his movie 'Rashque' (Urdu word meaning 'Jealousy'). Both the
Khans loved the script about musician
friends and were keen to work with
the director. For three nights Santoshi
even managed to get Bollywood's
two most charismatic stars together for a joint narration. But for months
after that, Raj Santoshi chased both
actors independently and neither of
them reverted. Finally Rajkumar Santoshi shelved the idea of this
ambitious project.The master director
is known for his famous movies like
'Damini', 'Ghayal', 'Ghatak', Andaz
Apna Apna', 'Khakee' and 'The Legend
Of Bhagat Singh'.

The rights of the script were later
acquired by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and
hence 'London Dreams' was made.
Salman Khan did the role meant for
Aamir Khan while Ajay Devgn
portrayed the character originally written for Shahrukh Khan. The movie
did not fare well at the box office but
the performances of lead actors got
appreciated. Rajkumar Santoshi had
earlier managed to bring together
Aamir Khan and Salman Khan for the first and probably last time in his cult
comedy 'Andaz Apna Apna'.

Yash Raj Films have chosen Jaipur's
iconic Raj Mandir to launch the trailer of
Shuddh Desi Romance.

The film stars Kai Po Che fame Sushant
Singh Rajput and National Award winner
Parineeti Chopra in lead roles.

Since the movie is based in Jaipur, the
makers have decided to host the event
at the Pink City's oldest theatre.

A source close to the production house
reveals, "The launch will be held on
Thursday, July 11. Sushant and Parineeti,
who've just returned from Macau, will be

What's common in Hritik Roshan and Aamir Khan?

Hrithik Roshan and
Aamir Khan have some things in
common. They have both featured in the
Dhoom series (Hrithik Roshan acted in
part two and Aamir Khan features in the
third segment), and the two superstars have come together for a bigger purpose
- helping out victims of the recent
Uttarakhand floods.

It's a known fact that Aamir has initiated
a drive for collecting funds for the
victims. He started off with his own
donation of R25 lakh. Now, we have
been told that Hrithik has also
contributed the same amount. "Besides inviting the film fraternity to
contribute,
Aamir is deeply involved with raising
funds for the flood victims. When Hrithik
got to know about this, he immediately
sent a cheque to Aamir," says an industry
insider.

Interestingly, Hrithik made sure that the
cheque reached Aamir a day before he
went in for his brain surgery. "Hrithik
couldn't go personally, but he sent his
secretary, Ashok Vashodia, on the sets of
Dhoom:3 (where Aamir was shooting) with instructions to hand over the cheque
only to Aamir and no one else," adds the
insider.

When contacted, Hrithik confirms this
news, saying, "One must do what one can
to help others in need. It must become
part of your belief system and must start
at home. Also I believe one must talk
about his charities. The old belief of 'selfglorification' giving and
not talking
about it does not serve the higher
purpose of teaching people to give and
propagating the ideal. We must set
examples so that others may follow.
Among all the negatives in the world, the positives must not go unnoticed. My
thanks to Aamir for initiating this effort."

Apparently, the collection from
Bollywood will be handed over to the
Prime Minister's Relief Fund on behalf of
the Film and Television Producers' Guild.

Imtiaz Ali's Choice - Deepika & Ranbir

Rumour mills went on and on switching
back and forth amongst Deepika, Aalia,
and Katrina for Imtiaz Ali's next flick. The
male lead - Ranbir Kapoor had been
decided long ago but the hunt for female
lead seems to be finally over. According to several reports, including
DNA, Imtiaz
was patiently waiting to see the result of
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and see if the
Ranbir-Deepika duo still have it to draw
in the audience and make their hearts
melt. Although the movie received mixed reviews, Ranbir-Deepika pair has
witnessed the successful front!

So the buzz is that Imtiaz Ali has finally
decided to bring Deepika on board
opposite Ranbir Kapoor in his next
production.

An industry source stated to the media,
""The success of YJHD proves beyond all
doubts that the audiences are in love
with this onscreen pair. Ranbir was on-
board for almost a year. Though Imtiaz
and Ranbir had discussed various options for the lead actress, they were still
debating on who was the best choice. It
was during the shooting of YJHD, that
Ranbir suggested Deepika's name.
Imtiaz, who worked with her before in
Love Aaj Kal, was open to the idea. Then came the blockbuster — YJHD — which
turned out to be the clinching factor."

Bollywood Actress Sonakshi Sinha Urged to Turn Down New Movie 'Lootera'

Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha's new movie Lootera is not raking in great
numbers at the Indian box office but it
has established her as a fine actress. Her
sterling performance as Pakhi is one of
the major highlights of the movie and she
has impressed both critics and audience by her acting prowess. However, she was
discouraged from taking-up this period-
romance drama as there were
apprehensions whether she will be able
to do the role convincingly or not.

"After 'Dabangg,' people saw me in a
particular kind of cinema. I heard
comments like 'This is too early in your
career,' 'You may not be able to pull it off'
or 'You need to be mature for something
like this.' I was irritated and decided to prove everyone wrong. I tried doing
something experimental, and I am happy
that I was able to carry it off," Sonakshi
Sinha told news agency PTI.

The promising actress made her Bollywood debut with Dabangg, a Salman
Khan movie and usually his movies do
not have much scope for actresses to
perform. She followed it up with hero-
centric movies such as Rowdy Rathore,
Son of Sardar and Dabangg 2. Like her
debut movie, these movies also did not provide her an opportunity to showcase
her talent. She was discussed more for
her figure and forehead and less for her
acting.

Calling Lootera her most challenging role
till date, the actress said that "because
the film is set in the 1950s, an era I know
nothing about, I have just gone by pure
instinct and Vikram's direction. He is a
tremendous director; I could not have done it without him. I am so glad that the
first opportunity I got to showcase my
range as an actor was with Vikram."

The actress has often been ridiculed in
the media and on social media for her
weight but for her it's no longer an issue.
"It is a non-issue to me. I am very happy
doing work and lots of work - probably
more than the 'skinny-minis.' I am going to take a stand in my life by
not talking
about it and not answering questions so
that people stop writing about it."

"I like it when people talk about my
work; that is what I am here for," the
actress said.

At the Australian Box Office, Lootera
collected A$ 39,078 in its opening
weekend and at the Indian Box Office,
the movie collected 15 crore (INR). The
movie may struggle to recover its
production cost.

The actress has a busy year ahead at the
box office. There are three movies lined
up for release, including Once Upon A
Time In Mumbaai Dobara, Bullet Raja and
Rambo Rajkumar.

Sonam Kapoor wants to do a film with Ranbir Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor is on cloud nine
these days, and she has every reason to
be! Sonam Kapoor's movie Raanjhanaa
did a very good buisness at the Box-
Office. Not only this the actress got a lot
of praises from the film critics for her brilliant performance in the
film. Sonam,
who made her Bollywood debut
opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Saawariya,
says that she would love to work with
him again.

It was said that Ranbir Kapoor and
Sonam Kapoor don't share a very cordial
relationship. And the co-stars did not
maintain any relation post the release of
their debut film. Rumour has it that the
two met on Arjun Kapoor's birthday party and decided to bury the past and
start afresh. Sonam Kapoor recently
hosted a birthday party for his cousin
Arjun Kapoor. At the party, Sonam and
Ranbir met each other very warmly.

Talking about the party, Sonam Kapoor
told a leading daily, "He did come for the
party (Arjun's birthday bash) but there
was no patch-up as such - we have
always been friends. There has never
been a film that was offered to both of us, but of course, I would like to work
with him again."

Well, we would love to see them
together. What about you readers?

Ranveer and I are compatible, Ranbir is my BFF, says Deepika Padukone

Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone, who
is on a roll after the stupendous success
of her latest release 'Yeh Jawaani Hai
Deewani' in recent interview to a
leading daily spoke about her life, love
and success.

Deepika who will next be seen opposite
Ranveer Singh in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's
'Ram Leela' was not bereft of dating
rumours with her co-star and when
asked about the same, she said, "We are
very compatible. He's got the gift of spreading happiness. He walks into the
room and makes you smile. Very few
people possess that gift. He is very
talented too."

Also, their growing proximity and
friendship has evidently been spotted
time and again. The duo was sometime
back spotted in a nighclub in Dubai and
was joined by Ranveer's friends from
college.

And when quizzed about her BFF in the
industry, the leggy lass named Dinesh
Vijan, Shahana, Karan Johar and not to
miss her ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor
among others. The two met on the sets of
'Bachna Ae Haseeno' after which their romance bloomed. But they parted ways
within a few months. Deepika, who won
the Star Plus audience jodi of the year
award for 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' at
the 14th IIFA awards, also mentioned
that she missed her co-star Ranbir Kapoor who was not present at the awards.

Be it friendship or compatibility but it
seems the 'R' factor is lucky in her life.

What do Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan have in common?

Besides ruling the silver screen, there is
one more thing that the once-upon-a-
time lovers share

No, we aren't talking about Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan sharing an
interest, or a
life or even a stylist. But we are talking
about the two actors having no releases
this year. Yes, we won't get to see the
duo in action until next year, individually
or together. While Sallu's much talked about film Mental will hit the theatres
around mid-January 2014, Kat's two big
projects – Dhoom: 3 and Bang Bang – have also been postponed to next year.

The makers of Dhoom: 3 were hoping to
release the film in December this year,
but we hear that there has been a huge
change in plans thanks to Aamir Khan.
The actor wants to perfect his villainous
act for the film and hence is delaying schedules. On the other hand, Katrina's
Bang Bang has hit an unexpected
roadblock – her co-star Hrithik Roshan recently underwent surgery for subdural
haematoma. And the honey-eyed actor
will take at least 30-45 days to
recuperate enough to start working
again.

Well, with both Katrina and Salman
missing from the charts this year, other
actors will try their best to take over at
the box-office and make the most out of
the situation, wethinks!

Are Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor dating?

The buzz is that the Student Of The
Year dude and the Aashiqui 2 babe are
showing great interest in each other.

By now the one thing that has become
supremely crystal clear is that Varun Dhawan is a Casanova. The hunk
gets stuck in the mire of love controversies
every now and then. Last we heard that
the actor was smitten by South babe
Taapsee Pannu's charm, and now it looks
like all of a sudden his focus has shifted
to someone else. Varun was recently seen having a scrumptious dinner
with Shraddha Kapoor at a restaurant. The two we hear are childhood
friends and
all, and we also came across pictures in
which the actors are partying with
common friends, but our super
enthusiastic buddies say that this 'dinner
do' was more than a casual friendly get together. It wasn't one of those two
friends catching up after a long time
kinda meeting – there was definitely
some sort of a spark.

But if it's Varun, expect it to be a fleeting
flash of attraction. The dude was also
linked with his SOTY co-star Alia Bhatt
before this, and there was also some
chick called Natasha Dalal who Dhawan
at one point was extremely serious about. With so many short-lived
relationships, let's see if Dhawan and
Shraddha reach somewhere…. love-wise,
of course!

'Vicky Donor' saas-bahu team back in 'Bajatey Raho'

Veteran actresses Kamlesh Gill and Dolly
Ahluwalia, whose fun and quirky
chemistry as the mother-in-law and
daughter-in-law respectively worked
well for "Vicky Donor", will be seen
together again in "Bajatey Raho".

Dolly says she was "very excited" when
"Bajatey Raho" director Shashant Shah
told her of Kamlesh's presence in the film. "Shooting with her in
'Vicky Donor' was
so much fun. I feel that we didn't have
much work together in 'Vicky Donor',"
Dolly said in a statement.

"In fact, I think even if we do an entire
film together, I will be greedy for more
screen space with her. She is a delight to
work with," she added. Shah says the "superbly talented" actors
are well-suited for his film.

"The roles that both Kamlesh ji and Dolly
ji are executing in this film are
specifically cut out for them. They both
are superbly talented and super fun to
work with," he said.

"Bajatey Raho", which also stars Ranvir
Shorey, Ravi Kishan, Tusshar Kapoor and
Vinay Pathak, is hitting screens July 26.

creating waves with her music career.
Her second single, "Exotic", from her

Apple's online iTunes Store.

American rapper and songwriter Pitbull
has collaborated with Priyanka on her
second number.

"Finally...and now officially 'Exotic'
featuring Mr. Worldwide Pitbull is now

Priyanka, 30.

The song is catchy, and a few Hindi lyrics
add a bit of a 'desi' flavour to it as well.

Her first song "In my city" featured guest
vocals from Will.i.am and 130,000 copies
of it are said to have been sold in India.

Madhuri urges women to be 'all in one'

Between film shoots, TV
shows, red carpet appearances, and her
duty as a wife and mother, actress
Madhuri Dixit believes she is managing
her personal and professional life quite
well. She motivates others to be "all in one" too.

She says this balancing act is a key trait
of "modern Indian women". "Dancer, actor, mother, wife all these
roles, I have lived in one life. All in one is
the mantra of the modern Indian
women," the 46-year-old tweeted.

Madhuri, who is known as the dancing
queen of silver screen, is credited for her
moves in songs like "Humko aaj kal hai",
"Dhak dhak", "Ek do teen", "Que sera
sera", "Kaahe chhed mohe" and "Aaja
nachle".

She took a break from showbiz when she
married US-based surgeon Sriram Nene
and shifted to Denver from Mumbai to
start a family. Now she is back in tinsel
town and judges celebrity participants on
dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6".

She is also ready for her new innings in
Bollywood with two films - Anubhav
Sinha's "Gulaab Gang" and Vishal
Bhardwaj's "Dedh Ishqiya". On the big
screen, she was last seen dancing to
"Ghagra" alongside Ranbir Kapoor in "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani".
