Bollywood's chocolaty Barfi Ranbir Kapoor is leaving no stone unturned
to market his upcoming film Besharam. The actor was recently in Punjab
where he promoted his film in Black t-shirt which has the film's title
on it.
Meanwhile, if you are thinking that this is RK's unique idea of
promotion then you are completely mistaken! Yes, Ranbir has imitated
the same from Salman Khan, who promoted his flick 'Veer' in the same
way.
However this is something stunning for all of us as there was a cold
war going on between Salman and Ranbir due to the Rockstar actor's
closeness with Sallu's ex Katrina Kaif. And amid all the war of words,
Ranbir aping Salman is something strange. Isn't it?
Meanwhile, the film had already lured enough limelight after it was
alleged that music director Lalit Pandit copied an Italian song for
Love Ki Ghanti.
Directed by Abhinav Kashyap, Besharam stars Ranbir Kapoor and Pallavi
Sharda. The film is scheduled to release on October 2, 2013.

BOX OFFICE: Paid Previews Of ‘Chennai Express’ House-Full!
This year's most awaited film, 'Chennai Express', directed by Rohit
Shetty and starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, is finally
released today. As expected, the box office anticipation is extremely
high.
Produced by Shah Rukh Khan's banner
Red Chillies Productions, 'Chennai
Express' is probably one of the biggest
Bollywood releases this year.
Expectations are already sky- high, with
the film grabbing eyeballs everywhere. Add to that is the festive season, and it
sure looks like the 'Chennai Express'
team has a true-blue winner on their
hands.
We spoke to a few top officials at multiplexes and single screen theatres,
to get a sense of what they predict will
be the opening for the film:
As Cinemax Deputy GM-Corporate Communications and Public Relations Mr.
Girish Wankhede says, "The buzz for
'Chennai Express' is awesome. For today,
all the paid previews are going housefull, while tomorrow also there
is heavy bookings. There is also block bulk
bookings for the weekend, so we predict
for the first two days the occupancy will
be a full 100%. Saturday and Sunday also
looks promising, with the occupancy will
be not less than 90%."
"I won't comment on which film's record
would be broken but I can confidently
say that Chennai Express is going to
create many records for sure, starting
with Paid Previews."
Elaborating on the reason for the
inclusion of paid previews, he said: "We
are glad to screen 10-12 shows on
Thursday itself for two reasons. First and
foremost the buzz is very high and it
makes sense to capitalize on that. Secondly, there is no other
blockbuster in the running that can't be moved. From Friday onwards
there would be an
average of 20 shows at all our major
properties."
A spokesperson of a leading single
screen theatre in Bangalore, Rex
Theatres, agreed with Mr. Wankhede by
saying that buzz is extremely positive.
"Since the film is a festive release, and
add to that it is a big budget Shah Rukh Khan-starrer, buzz is tremendous.
Advance booking trends have been very
encouraging, as the preview shows this
evening are almost sold out. Tomorrow
being a holiday for Eid, we expect
nothing less than an average 90-95% occupancy."

Chennai Express Movie Review: A Total Paisa Vasool Entertainer
Least did the 40-year-old Rahul know
that wooing the beautiful Meenamma in
Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (DDLJ)
style would land him up in such
jeopardy. That was possibly the biggest
mistake of his life. But, this mistake was for good, or in fact the best that
was about to happen in his life.
After ruling the hearts of the audience
for decades as Rahul, Shahrukh is back
in his trademark DDLJ romance in his
latest release Chennai Express, but this
time in Rohit Shetty 'ishtyle'. Chennai
Express is a super masala entertainment and promises a great deal of laughter as
expected from the typical Rohit Shetty
style flicks.
Story:-
It all starts when the 40-year-old
bachelor Rahul (Shahrukh Khan) boards
Chennai Express train that turns out to
be a life changing decision for him. SRK
as Rahul does a DDLJ again, when he
tries hard to woo the South beauty Meenamma Lochni (Deepika Padukone).
Fate plays a twist in such a way that
Rahul gets entrapped with Meenamma,
who is the daughter of an intimidating
south don. Both Rahul and Meenamma
try to elope, but everytime they fail to do so and end up in trouble.
Chennai Express will leave you
whistling, laughing and applauding in
the theatres. The flick is a thorough
entertainer as long as you don't search
for logic in it. Chennai Express makes an
impressive start, especially the train scene, where Shahrukh Khan meets
Deepika Padukone, is just hilarious.
Like almost all the Rohit Shetty movies,
even this one doesn't fail to offer good
dose of over the top action. Adding on
to this, the film also astonishes the mass
through its marvelous cinematography.
It gives you a rich desi village flavour, based on a South backdrop setting.
Performances:
Shahrukh Khan is splendid and
delightful. Even at 47, Khan retains his
old boyish charm onscreen. Though
there's a bit of overacting in parts by
SRK, on the whole, he's the soul of the
Chennai Express.
Deepika Padukone is a complete
stunner. Forget her breathtaking looks
as a South chick, Dippy does an
incredible act in the flick. She lets
herself loose and surrenders to her
character completely. Her performance is impressive.
Nikitin Dheer does justice to his
villainous act, while South star
Sathyaraj doesn't get much opportunity
to prove himself in the film.
Verdict:
Chennai Express is a light-hearted
entertainer, that stands strong and tall
on the shoulders of the super powerful
'Brand Shahrukh Khan'. It is colourful,
fascinating, fun-filled and yes, of course
not a mindless slapstick. And remember, you are going to watch comedy, drama,
lots of comic action and flying cars! In
one word, this one is a total paisa
vasool entertainer.
Rating: 4/5

Movie Review: Chennai Express

Star- Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Sathyaraj, Nikitin Dheer;
Director- Rohit Shetty;
Music- Vishal &
Shekhar
The comedy along with the action is
rarely served with equal entertainment in today's cinema. We discern
Rohit Shetty for his mass leisure which includes cars fluttering from
the unknown corners and comedy which isn't slapstick but works.
What is amusing here is how Shetty
keeps these two triumphing facets at
the forth and submerges it with Southern touch along with SRK's
trademark romance in 'Chennai
Express'. Though for some it might sound a mix and mash of numerous
odd ingredients which might produce
a sour recipe in the end. But here is
where Rohit excels in. He carries the
intriguing premises with responsibility
without exploiting or hurtling any regional sentiments.

He brings out the regional diction out
of Deepika (who chews the words and
deliver it with finesse) so brilliantly
that one might mistake her as South
actress, though we know that she will
be star opposite Rajinikanth soon.
Rohit Shettyy has shot Kerela
beautifully. He allows his cameraman
to zoom into the attractive hilly locales
like Meeshapulimala, Devikulam Lake,
Kannimala and Wagavara. Letting the
intoxicating beauty prevail, Rohit wastes no extra duration to bring
forth his business of combat which
shifts the focus from the blooming
romance of Deepika-SRK to the initial
avenge.

It begins when Rahul (Shah Rukh
Khan) a well educated man from
North India is on a vacation. He boards
in Chennai Express by mistake where
he meets Meenamma ( Deepika
Padukone) a south Indian girl whose father is a well known don. Some
goons kill the ticket checker of the
train whose sole witnesses are Rahul
and Meena.
Meena takes Rahul to her city until the
matter calms down. How Rahul gets
rid of the dirty gangster game that is
how the story revolves around.
[/IMG]
With an army of heavy assailants and
a big queue of sedans, the screen
never looks light-weighted. With
characters like Durgeshwara, a don in
Tamil Nadu (played by Sathyaraj) and
Tangaballi (Nikiteen Dheer) the battle looks one-sided but Shah Rukh's tricks
(action resembling Karan-Arjun)
balances it all.
If we consider SRK's performance he is
back as a charming Rahul who is a
romantic feat action hero. His screen
presence is delightful which none
could replace. He tickles your funny
bone, makes you emotional at times and when it comes to action he
doesn't exploits but takes the punch
and delivers the same with full
strength.
Deepika playing his lady love after 'Om
Shanti Om' is surprisingly amusing. Her
Southern dialect sounds cute and she
looks innocent and beautiful.
[/IMG]
The veteran star Sathyaraj leaves a
desired effect with his villainous act
and this would surely bring him more
glory. The muscular Nikitin Dheer is
good.
Music by Vishal-Shekhar is great.
However, before its release the music
wasn't the high point of the flick but
there is some vitality which you can't
ignore and would love to watch the
songs on Youtube. Kashmir se Kanya Kumari and Tera Rasta tracks are my
favourites.

Kannimala and Wagavara. Letting the
intoxicating beauty prevail, Rohit wastes no extra duration to bring
forth his business of combat which
shifts the focus from the blooming
romance of Deepika-SRK to the initial
avenge.

It begins when Rahul (Shah Rukh
Khan) a well educated man from
North India is on a vacation. He boards
in Chennai Express by mistake where
he meets Meenamma ( Deepika
Padukone) a south Indian girl whose father is a well known don. Some
goons kill the ticket checker of the
train whose sole witnesses are Rahul
and Meena.
Meena takes Rahul to her city until the
matter calms down. How Rahul gets
rid of the dirty gangster game that is
how the story revolves around.

With an army of heavy assailants and
a big queue of sedans, the screen
never looks light-weighted. With
characters like Durgeshwara, a don in
Tamil Nadu (played by Sathyaraj) and
Tangaballi (Nikiteen Dheer) the battle looks one-sided but Shah Rukh's tricks
(action resembling Karan-Arjun)
balances it all.
If we consider SRK's performance he is
back as a charming Rahul who is a
romantic feat action hero. His screen
presence is delightful which none
could replace. He tickles your funny
bone, makes you emotional at times and when it comes to action he
doesn't exploits but takes the punch
and delivers the same with full
strength.
Deepika playing his lady love after 'Om
Shanti Om' is surprisingly amusing. Her
Southern dialect sounds cute and she
looks innocent and beautiful.

The veteran star Sathyaraj leaves a
desired effect with his villainous act
and this would surely bring him more
glory. The muscular Nikitin Dheer is
good.
Music by Vishal-Shekhar is great.
However, before its release the music
wasn't the high point of the flick but
there is some vitality which you can't
ignore and would love to watch the
songs on Youtube. Kashmir se Kanya Kumari and Tera Rasta tracks are my
favourites.

'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa' has set benchmark for others: Karan Johar
The ongoing season of the popular dance show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa has
come up with innumerable dance forms, raising the standard of any
other ongoing dance competition. The contestants of the show have
performed extraordinary acts with a variety of dance forms like Mukti
did some 'Tandav' moves, Sana showed her sensuous side by performing
on Spanish Paso Doble, following her was Lauren who showed her dance
moves in a Durga avatar and Shaan's afro jazz.
All these varied forms of dance have not
only raised the standard of the show but its TRP is also soaring high.
The judges of the show, Karan Johar, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Remo
D'Souza have been so fascinated by the different acts that in one of
the performances, Remo even applauded and praised the choreographer
for their extra ordinary choreography.
While talking to a leading daily, Karan said, "The contestants this
season are at competing with their own selves. I have learnt a thing
or two about dance from them. It is becoming difficult and challenging
to judge week after week."
He added, "The fabulous ratings only suggest that the viewers simply
love this weekend blockbuster. With such dedication from the
contestants and the rest of the team, Jhalak has raised the bar of
dance as an art form. It has set a benchmark for others."
The show is aired on Saturday and Sunday at 9pm on Colors.
