Katrina Kaif's cinematic journey

The British born lady ventured into India to make her
career in Bollywood. With baby like
smile but intelligent more than
anybody she had the confidence to
make it big in the struggling Industry
and she did.

Today we recall her with the names
like Chikni Chameli and Sheila of
Bollywood who can surpass any tinsel
town diva in terms of act or dance.

Katrina Kaif! The golden lady has
turned 30 today and there is no
looking back for her after achieving so
much in Bollywood.

We peek into her cinematic journey so
far, which has seen lesser flaws but
bigger accomplishments. Her birth tale
somewhat resembles her highly
acclaimed flick 'Namaste London',
where she played a half Indian and half British daughter to her desi
parents but in real life the actress is
born to an Indian Kashmiri father and
a British mother.

Kat started her career with modeling
in fashion shows in London, which
brought her into focus and gave her
first chance to venture into Bollywood
though a dud. In Boom she romanced
with age old actors like Gulshan Grover and Amitabh Bachchan. The flick was
highly criticized but it didn't perturb
her adamant motives. The actress
tried to stick to the Mayanagiri of
Mumbai pursuing her modeling career
there and was caught by the eyes of Ram Gopal Verma who roped her in
Sarkar. The flick proved hit and she
became noticeable.

When she starred opposite Salman
Khan in Maine Pyar Kyu Kiya, buzz
surrounded that the two are hit by the
cupid's arrow and it's because of
Dabangg Khan that Kat got the offer.
The duo too gave an acceptance to their relationship.

Thereafter Katrina's career took a
flying start with Akshay Kumar. The
two starred in 'Humko Deewana Kar
Gaye' which did a moderate business
at Box Office. But the very next year
they had a commercially hit flick in the name of 'Namaste London' and there
was no looking back for Katrina
thereafter.

A series of hit flicks by the two
followed namely, Singh is King,
Welcome, De Dana Dan.

In 2009, Katrina starred opposite John
Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh in
New York. The actress was highly
acclaimed for her performance in the
flick which for the first time ever
made her nominee for the best actress at Filmfare Awards. In the same year,
she worked with Ranbir Kapoor in
Rajkumar Santoshi's comedy drama
'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani' and
with this, rumours surrounded their
relationship as till then she had broken off with Salman Khan.

In 2010, the duo again was seen in yet
another flick titled 'Rajneeti', which
was again a hit at Box Office. By the
end of the year Katrina's first item
number 'Sheila Ki Jawani' in Tees Maar
Khan was a chartbuster and it even left behind Malaika Arora's Munni
Badnam Hui in terms of popularity.

In 2011, Zoya Akhtar's 'Zindagi Na
Milegi Dobara' the actress gave a fine
performance and for the first time she
gave an onscreen kiss which also
brought many of her admirers to
theatres.

Katrina kicked off 2012 with a Lavani
number 'Chikni Chameli' in Agneepath
which was a hit. Later in the year she
once again shared screen with her ex-
boyfirend Salman Khan in Kabir Khan's
'Ek Tha Tiger' which turned out to be the second highest grosser of
Bollywood after Aamir Khan's '3
Idiots'. Ek Tha Tiger was mostly in
buzz because it was Kat-Salman's first
movie post break up.

Same year Kat worked with Shahrukh
Khan is Yash Chopra's last romantic
saga 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan'. Her kiss with
SRK in the flick was again the talk of
the town.

This year the actress will be seen in an
action mode with Amir Khan in a
highly anticipated flick of the year
'Dhoom 3' while there is another
action drama lined up opposite Hrithik
Roshan titled 'Bang Bang'.

For today it's party time for Katrina
Kaif as we wish her a very happy
Birthday.
