The Vivek Oberoi, Ritesh Deshmukh and Aftab Shivdasani starrer has
done an excellent business at the Indian Box Office in the first
weekend. It has topped domestic collection chart, beating two other
new releases - John Day and Horror Story.
With its promos which soared up the
viewers' curiosity to the sky high, Grand
Masti opened to a thunderous response
with its occupancy ranging between 60%
to 70%+ in the morning and noon shows
on Friday. Some screens were packed to capacity at several centres. The movie
showed escalation in its business in the
later shows. With this, the film became
the fourth biggest opener of 2013 after
Chennai Express, Yeh Jawaani Hai
Deewani and Race 2.
With its business growing considerably,
Grand Masti has collected approximately
Rs 40 crores nett at the Indian Box Office
in the first weekend. Its breakup is Rs
12.50 cr on Fri, Rs 13.50 cr on Sat and Rs
14 cr on Sun. 215.0 million. With the huge success of this adult comedy, it has
become clear that the genre is getting
more and more popular. This film has
beaten the record of previous biggest
opener, an adult comedy Kyaa Super Kool
Hain Hum, which had raked Rs 21.5 crores nett in India in the first weekend.
